Pool Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Benidoleig

The staff at the restaurant were truly kind and welcoming that stood out in a very positive way, and it’s the main reason I’m giving three stars. That said, the atmosphere wasn’t really what I had expected. From the photos, it looked like you’d be sitting by the pool, but in reality that area is only for residents. While I understand that now, it wasn’t immediately clear from the pictures or description, and that led to some disappointment.

The food I ordered was very tasty, though the prices were a bit higher than expected.

One thing I want to mention and I say this with some hesitation is that I noticed some of the owner’s responses to reviews on Google Maps were quite harsh and came across as rude. While I wasn’t personally on the receiving end of that, it did affect how I felt about the overall experience. I think respectful communication matters, even online.

In short: lovely staff, good food, but personally the vibe wasn’t for me, and a few things left me unsure whether I’d return.

Edit: I just wanted to kindly say that I didn’t mean my review as an attack I shared my experience honestly and respectfully. I was surprised by the tone of the response I received. I don’t think it’s respectful to speak to customers that way, especially when they’re offering calm feedback. Responses like that can push people away, even when the food and service were otherwise good. I hope this is taken as constructive feedback, because I truly did appreciate the kindness...

I'm absolutely in love with this place, and from the first sight. Hidden on a hill with spectacular views, away from hustle and bustle of crowded holiday spots of Costa Blanca, you can spend there the most relaxing day. The big pool, Ibiza style double sunbeds with comfy mattresses, pool bar and restaurant, tennis court, pool table, darts, sports TV. The owner, who is also the chef, with his team are not only super friendly but will make your food experience an unforgettable adventure. All home made and fresh, from seasonal ingredients and unique combinations. You can choose from the menu but they are super creative if you ask for something special. Just speak to the chef - he's an artist in his profession. I like to be there in the evening to experience the silence of the spot and a friendly chat with the team. Es war unser erstes und leider auch letztes Mal das wir die Restaurantion The Pool-Bar aufsuchen. Das Essen vom Buffet war ganz gut. Wir hatten Spaß und haben nicht gerade wenig für das alles bezahlt.

Anfangs wussten wir nicht das wir die Getränke uns selbst holen müssen, später agierte ein junger Mann als Kellner der alleine damit etwas überfordert (circa 50 Gäste) war, da er unsere Bestellung mehrfach vergessen hatte. Ein wenig Unterstützung vom Chef wäre kein Fehler gewesen.!!

Was jedoch unseren Abend ruiniert und uns förmlich zum Gehen gezwungen hat war das Problem mit dem Rauchen.

Es war nicht zu erkennen das das Rauchen nicht erwünscht war. Keine Schilder an den Tischen!!

Auf Anfrage meiner Frau an die Angestellten der Getränkeausgabe!! hieß es von den beiden Jungs " Ja ist kein Problem solange sich keiner beschwert" was wir auch dem Chef erklärten als er kam um uns darauf hinwies sich die Leute "angeblich" beschwert hätten. Unter freien Himmel?? Behaupte mal es hat einem nicht gefallen, dem Chef selbst. Ok gut haben wir so zur Kenntnis genommen.

Was aber den Boden endgültig ausschlug war uns als Lügner da stehen zu lassen nachdem der Chef bei den beiden Jungs der Bar nachfragte, diese natürlich das ganze verneinten aus Angst vor Ärger und dieser zurück an unseren Tisch kam um uns mitzuteilen das dies nicht der Wahrheit entsprechen würde!!

Durch diese absolut sinnlose Aktion wurden alle anderen Gäste auf diese Diskussion aufmerksam was für uns mehr als peinlich war.

Frage:Geht man generell in Ihrem Gasthaus so mit gut zahlenden Gästen um?

Schade, wären gerne noch bis zum Schluss geblieben (Moonshine Duo, tolle Musikgruppe) und wohl auch wiederbekommen aber so etwas macht man nur einmal mit uns.
