A green paradise in this charming desertic island. The food was amazing. We tried 4 different makes of the local Majorero cheese, the typical potatoes with their traditional dipping sauce, and slow cooked beef with veggies. I think the lamb, which is also a classic dish in the island, is amazing. We could not try is as they had run out of it, that’s how good it is. To top it all of, homemade chocolate cake. Starting from the menu, they removed some of the best dishes such as the codillo de cerdo, so you don't have much of a choice. We ordered a couple of appetizers, which were both expensive and lacking in quality and quantity, and then some main dishes. There's no middle ground here; the food is either too dry and poorly presented or reheated with poor quality and taste. The price you pay is indeed excessive considering the disappointing outcome. Read moreWhenever we are in Fuerteventura we have a day trip to Betancuria and do a loop from Corralejo up into the hills and back. When we do that trip we always stop at Don Antonio. It is so peaceful in the garden area at the back surrounded by wonderful plants. The menu had changed since our last visit – no more goat stew but some good alternatives. The menu has never been extensive but the food is always good and the service top notch. Despite it being lunchtime we managed 3 courses this time (ok 2.5 as we shared a dessert). We both had salads for mains and they were as good as we had all holiday....
