Baluma Restaurant & Lounge Bar — Restaurant in Blanes

We had booked this restaurant specifically so we could watch the fireworks in Blanes from the terrace. I read the reviews and saw the pictures of the food, which were all great. However what I didn't realise all the reviews dated back at least 10 months.

When we arrived at 2130 for our reservation, we were told we would have to order immediately, as the kitchen was closing in 30 min and that they would close the terrace by 2230 ( keep in mind we booked specifically to see the fireworks, which was only due to start at 2230. The manager and both the other waiting staff were clearly in a rush to go and were rude and rushing us, from the start. The menu we were given bore no resemblance to the published menu. There were almost no fish dishes on the menu, despite the reviews talking about how amazing these were. The menu had clearly been shortened and changed since those reviews.

We ordered an oxtail croquette starter. it was bland and tasted like it had no oxtail in it ( 2 other tables behind us complained about the same issue) For mains we ordered the chicken escalope ( which was so dry it was impossible to eat) and the cod ( one of the few fish dishes that remained on the menu) The cod was grey and completely raw inside and had clearly been taken out the freezer and then ( unsuccessfully ) defrosted. When we tried to send it back the waiter told us that it was normal for the fish to look like that inside as it was " boiled" I told him to eat it if he was so sure, but even he refused.

We asked for the manager but he was nowhere to be seen. When he finally appeared 15 min later, he apologised by saying that he was " deeply sorry" but, that he was not in the kitchen, so it wasn't his fault and that " some nights it works out and other nights it doesnt" and also that they were "really busy" that night ( there were 6 occupied tables that we could see).I pointed out that as the manager he bore the responsibility, but he was having none of it. There were 2 other tables that were also complaining to him about their food, so it was not us that had a bad experience

In the end they comped the meal , ( we hadnt eaten any of the food apart from the croquettes in any case,) but I would recommend you think twice before...

La verdad es que fui al restaurante, ya que no tenía malas opiniones, y como estaba en Blanes para ver los fuegos artificiales, aproveché.

La verdad es que el sitio está al lado del paseo, y aunque tiene una calle justo al lado, se podría decir que tiene una visibilidad interesante.

En cuanto a la comida, la verdad es que me sorprendió pero desde un punto de vista mal, no entiendo por que es tan difícil hacer un pulpo, unas patatas o cualquier comida que esté decente, la comida se notaba que era recalentada, sobretodo las patatas del pulpo, hacer las cosas con cariño es básico, y ayuda a que los clientes estén contentos y vuelva, no como en mi caso que no volveré. Pagar 17 € por un plato que tiene patatas llenas de aceite y encima pasadas no merece la pena.

Respecto al servicio, aunque hubo camareros que se olvidaron de traernos platos (algo no muy importante ;) ) el que creo que era el jefe de sala se preocupó en traerlo, y aunque esto no debería ser algo que sobresaliese, como el resto no lo hacía, hay que darle el mérito a esta persona.

Además pensé, tiene que ser difícil trabajar de camarero y que la cocina sea tan mala, solo hay que decir que pedimos un plato, y nos dijo el chico, mejor que no lo pidáis, yo pediría este otro. No quiero saber como estaría ese plato.

En definitiva no lo recomiendo, y creo que habría que...

Siento poner esta reseña, de verdad, pero es que era mi restaurante preferido, he venido incluso desde barcelona expresamente a comer aqui, pero este año me ha decepcionado mucho, subida de precio, servicio regular y comida regular. No se si han cambiado la gestion (el hombre que atendia antes no estaba) o han cambiado de dueños? Se que esta en traspaso porque lo tengo en favoritos por si un dia baja jeje pero de verdad del año pasado a este ha pegado un bajon importante. Alomejor deberian mirar de dejar la gestion a otra persona,...
