OK the review that was not complimentary about the food must have gone on a bad day, if at all. We arrived in Cómpeta mid afternoon on a Sunday. Regret we missed the Sunday Roast but will try again.
What a place. Great atmosphere although I think the Brits outnumbered most. Within minutes of arriving the locals made us feel most welcome. My dog was a great hit.
If you are looking just to chill, sit outside and take in the vibes. Someone is bound to come over and chat if you are new.
The food is a little better than basic and very good too, especially for the price and as for the wine prices I was shocked at how reasonable they were.

Read moreI would not recommend this pub. We couldn't have been made more unwelcome. We arrived at 6pm on an evening in July with two adults and two older children. No staff, the only lady working was clearly making a fuss about being alone and making it very visble. We waited 20 mins for a drinks order. Then we were told it was over an hour for food. She clearly didn't want us there. We were table four in the queue if we did order. So four tables equalled an hour or more for food?! The only plus was that four drinks only cost 9 euros. Read moreWow what a little gem of a place !! We stayed locally and went for our evening meal and drinks , ended up staying the rest of the evening . Was made to feel welcome by the staff and the British ex pat locals . Had a great night and made new friends . The chefs garlic and mushroom sauce is to die for . Paul the chef even made us some to take back home and gave my wife the recipe , what a top lad ! We are going back today for lunch .
