Casa Marcos — Restaurant in Callosa d'en Sarrià

The first time we came here it was great. Lovely food, attentive staff, and pool access after we had eaten. Decided to return, but unfortunately the pepperoni pizza only had 4 pieces of pepperoni, and the rest was long strips of bacon. The burgers were OK but specifically asked for no lettuce or onion and they had it in.. someone just tried to scrape it out at the last minute I guess. Worst thing was that when the bill came there was an additional charge of 15 euros to pay. When I questioned this I was told the pool is only free when eating if you arrive before 1pm and that there is a sign. To be honest the sign is difficult to find and nobody informed me of the additional cost when we arrived or during the meal. Good place for a swim, but don't bother eating there as well because you will find much better and more economical spots...

This really wasn't a great experience. We were lured into the "free parking and pool access", but needed lunch anyway. We arrived at 11:30 and could only get a booking for 15:00 (later adjusted to 14:30). After visiting the falls until 13:00 (which is great and worth swimming up to the top part), we’d hoped to shift our booking sooner, but was told it was not possible. However, the restaurant remained empty, until we could be seated at our booked time. The menu is limited, with Paella needing to be ordered well in advance - when we booked the table. They don’t have a kids menu, but happily produced a burger and chicken nuggets. My wife's steak (medium) arrived rare. My grilled sole was bland. Prices are high. All dishes around €20+. Some of the best food we've had in the area, which was a pleasant surprise. Paella, jamon iberico, and wine were all amazing. The staff were all very attentive and pleasant, and considerate of allergies, even making my wife a quick appetizer that was not on the menu. Beutiful building and view of the countryside as well. We parked in their lot (reviewed separately) and so happy we did. They took a €20 deposit on the reservation because we went to the falls first, but I thought it was fair since the lot is so close. It also have us access to their pool! We had a cocktail before our meal, after the falls. They took the deposit (and the €5 parking fee) off of our meal so it eally cost nothing extra.
