Restaurante El Algar de Don Joan — Restaurant in Callosa d'en Sarrià

Came on 28th as part of a coach trip we didn’t want meal deal and wanted the Paella. all the staff were rude to us and I feel we’re racist towards a young boy I am a carer for. They said all tables reserved and hid us on a table away from others. The two young waitresses were sniggering and whispering about us. We saw other guests being seated by pool and they weren’t reserved tables. We were served the paella but had to get our own cutlery not one of the staff smiled it was shocking. I was really looking forward to showing the boy (I am a carer) this restaurant as came 6 years ago. I do feel this was racist and it sickened me as everywhere else we travelled in Spain were friendly. Shame on all the staff there disgusting behaviours. Terrible experience... We arrived and sat down, it took a couple of minutes for the waitress to come to us, but that can be expected. While giving her our order, she turned around, walked away and started yelling at the other employee, while I was still speaking to her... Ok, fine. She never came back after that and after 15 minutes of not receiving at least the drinks, I stood up and walked to the bar to ask about it. She said she will come to us in a minute to take our order... We already ordered the drinks! I was fed up and said it is fine, we will go, we don't want the drinks anymore and she became very upset and gave me a feeling of her not wanting us there. Very distasteful older waitress,...

Decepción dimensionada. Ayer tras visitar las fuentes y pozas del Algar decidimos buscar un establecimiento para comer. Y fue este restaurante. Nos sentimos como si estuviéramos en un burger por la atención, en ningún momento preguntaron si todo estaba de nuestro agrado, vamos cómo cuando le lanzas comida a los pollos del corral y pagamos 71 euros, ni más ni menos por dos adultos y un niño . Luego la sangria estaba amarga por los trozos de naranja y limón que le pusieron, ninguna otra fruta para endulzar, al principio bien pero hacia el final y durante un hora después de la comida tuve el sabor amargo. Luego no sacan un pan con tomate y alioli ( perdon ajonesa) y el tomate no llevaba ni gota de aceite de oliva, si el pan lleva alguno de los trozos un chorrtin de aceite de oliva suave. La ensalada aunque los ingredientes eran frescos la vinagreta dejaba que desear, súper ácida, le faltaba aceite y sal, y en ningún momento hasta que no nos là retiraron , que nos comimos bastante porque teníamos hambre, se acercaron a la mesa . Luego el arroz de carne con caracoles. Los caracoles incomibles, estaban secos por dentro, extra cocidos, y rancios como si se hubieran quemado en el congelador por tiempo y mala congelación en algún arcón mal cerrado. Luego el conejo se dejaba comer pero los otros trozos de pollo y cerdo porque costilla no había, estaban demasiado fritos , extra cocidos y duros como piedras . El arroz estaba acertado en la cocción, pero no estaba seco como una paella debe de estar , y además el romero sirve para aromatizar si no que pongan paella al romero con otras cosas. Y para más inri el sofrito y el caldo (si le han puesto)no acompañaban en la armonía de lo que debe ser un buen arroz . Ya lo siento soy cocinero gastronómico y sé pasar fallos pero lo de ayer es o una concatenación de fallos graves o mala praxis de todo el equipo del restaurante. Pero si se que me toco a mi. Espero que solo haya sido mala suerte que nos toco a nosotros como en la lotería. Algo que agregar positivo a favor es la rapidez en aportar la comida de la niña. Y que está...
