I visited recently and was lucky enough to be able to try the tasting menu with wine pairings which was without a doubt one of the best dining experiences of my life. The evening started out with a traditional Italian Aperol Spritz and ended with a glass of top-shelf whisky, which felt like the perfect bookends to an unforgettable meal.

The tasting menu itself was a masterclass in flavour, balance, and creativity. Each dish was paired with wines that didn’t just complement, but elevated the food — clearly chosen with real care and expertise by José María and Sabrina. I’ve been fortunate enough to dine at different 2 and 3* Michelin restaurants around the world, and I can honestly say the cooking at La Tavernetta is right up there with the very best.

Beyond the food and drink, the service was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without ever feeling intrusive. Every detail felt considered, yet relaxed — exactly what fine dining should be.

The restaurant interior is tastefully decorated with a cozy, welcoming feel. The tables are decorated beautifully with nice little touches for the tableware, cutlery and plates, and everywhere including the restrooms felt immaculately clean.

Muy bueno el plato de pasta, PERO más que desilusionante el precio. Explico situación:

Entro al restaurante y me da la bienvenida el dueño, que es quien cocinó. Me explica el modelo de restaurante y su filosofía, como fusión italo-gallega. Además, me explica que no tienen menú y que trabajan a la carta (todo bien, pues es algo que ocurre en muchos restaurantes).

Es aquí cuando me dispongo a mirar la carta en el QR y, literalmente había 6 platos (entrecotte a 28€, pulpo a la gallega 22€, ensalada unos 22€ etc). Algunos de estos precios me parecieron un poco altos, pero seguí pensando que el producto lo valdría.

Al no tener muchas opciones en el menú digital, me decidí a seguir el consejo del dueño a que me preparase un PLATO DE PASTA, con setas, pequeños tacos de jamón y trufa. De bebida, agua. Esta fue mi comida. El plato, bueno y él mismo vino a rallarme un cuarto de trufa a la mesa para terminar de preparar el plato (soy consciente de que la trufa puede alterar el precio del plato, pero hay que ser equilibrado).

Al pedir la cuenta y traerla, este fue el momento más desagradable: un plato de pasta y la botella de agua medio litro, 39,80€. Barbaridad, una barbaridad.

Como cliente asiduo a restaurantes de muchos tipos y con todo mi respeto a este restaurante y a su dueño, SE ME DEBERÍA HABER INFORMADO DEL PRECIO, para no tener que vivir la incomodidad de decirme a mí mismo: “lo pago, pero no estoy de acuerdo, me parece abusivo y no encuentro el sentido a volver”.

Pienso que hay que ponerse en situación sobre dónde está el lugar (es un restaurante en la carretera de un pequeño pueblo, es un momento entre semana y no me cuadra pagar estas cantidades, de verdad. SI SE VA A PAGAR TAL PRECIO POR UN PLATO DE PASTA, SE DEBERÍA AVISAR AL CLIENTE.

Me sorprende que no haya más comentarios de este tipo, hablando de los precios. Me gustaría subir una imagen con el ticket, pero creo no tener opción (el ticket solo dice “menú degustación).

Cierto es que el dueño es muy amable, me invitaba a café o chupito, pero no me sentí cómodo.
