Because of my love and passion for food, I started early on figuring out where the 7 of us would go for dinner on our vacation. I came across Es Figueral and got excited by the beautiful photos of the location and dishes on instagram. We ate there last week and it lived up to all expectations. The staff was friendly and the beautiful surroundings immediately created a relaxing atmosphere. The waiter advised us well and because of his confidence in the cook we blindly followed his advice, this was a good choice. For only 10 euros difference in courses between the large and small menu we choose for the large and it was absolutely worth it. The recipes were colorful and creative. You tasted the local products and the passion of the chef. The tuna and the tortilini were favourites, the combination of playfulness in different products and the purines of tastes without any fuss made it delicious. The meat course could be made a bit more special in my opinion, the meat was tasty but a bit dull. We asked for wines that matched the dishes and they fitted well. For the next time it would be nice if they could tell you a bit more about the chosen wines. But all things considered, the purity, creative/colourful recipes, beautiful location, and the family rich combination made it a very special and memorable evening. We highly recommend you to go for dinner at...
Read moreWe visited Es Figueral last week to celebrate my fathers 80th as a group of 15 ranging from an 11year old to the birthday boy. The location and setting are sublime, a traditional but stylish finca retreat with dining under the stairs. Not on the menu was a menagerie that included sheep, parrots and cats that kept the kids entertained during the night. But it was the food that enthralled everyone. We opted for the 7 course chef menu at 59euros and it wowed kids and adults alike. The courses were beautifully presented, well paced and sized, and all offered something different for the taste buds and eyes. The universal highlights were the croquettes, sea bass, gnocchi and dessert. Although my personal favourite was the suckling pig and Majorcan wines helpfully suggested. The piece de resistance was a surprise homemade birthday cake baked by the owners mother with candles. All in all an unforgettable night that deserves the praise and 5...
Read moreWe booked a table weeks ago and added in the booking that one person is vegetarian. According to the website, it is possible to receive a vegetarian menu if they know about it upfront which we had made sure to inform them about when booking the table. We received an email with a cancellation on the same day we were supposed to visit the restaurant without a comment on why the table is cancelled. When we called to ask why the table was cancelled, they said they cannot accommodate a vegetarian. It is very disappointing to receive those news on the same day as the booking was and just after we called them. A restaurant like this should have different...
