It’s a quaint little spot with equally friendly and inviting habitants as the staff is. Being a fan of quick service and delicious humble food, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here. I had the menu of the day with a simple soup, fava bean stew and I fried fish and chips. Apart from that we also shared a plate of thin sliced and battered fried beef, again with fries.
I think my favorite was the stew. It was hearty, had a bit of heat and cooked to perfection with soft silky potatoes and homemade Spanish sausages that had me literally audibly gasping from how delicious it was.
If I were nitpick, the beef slices were not equally good. Some of them were tough and chewy while others were soft and succulent and I would personally have preferred them having been a bit better drained from the oil after cooking to retain its texture and integrity.
Everything else was an absolute treat!
