Ô DI VIN — Restaurant in Castelló d'Empúries

Any restaurant that calls itself "a fusion of" always worries me, but we gave this place a go as it was right next to our apartment. We love French food, and we love Spanish. The restaurant is very interesting with a strange but interesting decor. It was a very comfortable dining room to be in. The staff, in particular the guy who served us, was excellent. Quick, efficient and friendly without overdoing it. They speak French, Spanish and English. We had the 3-course menu of the day, which did not include drinks for 20 euros. The food was excellent. Very well presented and tasted fabulous. You cannot complain about the value. In fact, we couldn't find anything to complain about, not that we go to a restaurant looking anyway. We would certainly go again and would recommend it for the menu of the day. As for the evening we have yet to try, but the menu reads...

We recently went there as a family for dinner. There was only a menu in Spanish and French. The waitress told us to use Google Translate! The food is exceptional, the service rather poor. For a glass of wine they charged a whole bottle. If you just want to have a drink there at lunchtime, that is not so well received. Fortunately, there are enough alternatives in Empuriabrava. Client régulier de cet établissement depuis plusieurs années..

Lors de mes premières visites, ce restaurant offrait un excellent rapport qualité-prix avec des portions généreuses et des tarifs raisonnables. Aujourd’hui, force est de constater que les prix ont presque doublé tandis que les portions ont été réduites.

Si l’inflation est une réalité économique que nous comprenons tous, elle ne peut justifier une telle dégradation du service. Vivant à Paris, je fréquente régulièrement d’autres établissements de gamme similaire qui parviennent à maintenir un équilibre cohérent entre qualité, quantité et prix, sans les mêmes contraintes de coûts fixes.

Cette stratégie tarifaire, couplée à une réduction des portions, donne l’impression désagréable que l’établissement mise sur l’acquis de sa réputation passée plutôt que sur la satisfaction client actuelle.

Je regrette sincèrement cette évolution car l’ambiance et le service restent corrects, mais le rapport qualité-prix n’est plus au rendez-vous. En espérant que ces retours constructifs permettront une remise en question.
