The friendly welcome, we tried to walk in on Saturday but it was fully booked so we reserved a table for Sunday evening and when we returned the next day I was very surprised to be greeted by my name. El Portal de la Gallarda is a garden restaurant, located in the old town of Castelló d'Empúries and very close to the cathedral.
At the moment, probably because of the Covid-19 measures (I am not sure as I did not ask), there is no possibility to get an interior table.

It is a wonder why El Portal de La Gallarda is not a Michelin Star holder. Empuriabrava has within 55 minutes drive 8 Michelin Star restaurants.
