PURA BRASA Empuriabrava — Restaurant in Castelló d'Empúries

Food was great - service could be improved. Never got offered water . Waiter was often hard to find. Great food but my caution would be - especially if you are English speaking, is to watch out for the waiter ordering high priced food item and then saying it was yoir fault. Really a big dussappointment. We've eaten here begore and thd food was great but getting ripped off by the waiter - not appealing. We asked if he spoke English- he replied yes. We ordered in English BUT also pointed to the pork burger to double check we got what we wanted. ( I can't eat a lot of beef due to a gut issue.) I said agajn, that i wanted the 1,2 3 Pork burger/ he echoed the order back.. What we got was a wagu beef burger for $6 more - which we were not made aware of until thd bill came . Having never had a pork burger before I didn't know what to expect- burger was great buy my guts are paying the price of my ignorance and the waiters sneakyness. Great...

Llums i ombres... Si pogués posar mitges estrelles li posaria 3,5 però com no puc son tres ja que a quatre no s'hi acosta. Els Pura Brasa com a concepte de local de restauració estan molt bé però al meu entendre no acaba d'estar prou ben executada (Almenys el d'Empuriabrava que és l'únic que he visitat, en dos ocasions).

Local net, informal, agradable i modern. Servei ràpid i en el cas del cambrer que ens ha tocat amable. Punt negatiu pel que fa al local / Servei: La pressa, la fresa i l'estrès. És d'aquells locals que veure els cambres ja fa patir, van corrent i cridant... van molt estressats (potser faltaria personal). Si voleu un àpat tranquil i relaxat no és el lloc, molta cridòria, sovint molesta..

De primers croquetes, braves i calamars a l'andalusa. Les croquetes m'han sorprès molt positivament doncs estaven boníssimes. Les braves sense ser una maravella estaven força bones i a més amb molta quantitat. Els calamars tot i no ser els millors que he menjat eren realment bons i gens oliosos. De segons unes tagliatelles a la bolognesa i 2 racions de bacallà a la brasa amb crudités de verdures i gratinat de salsa romesco. El bacallà excepcionalment bo i la pasta també bona i gran quantitat. Tot regat amb un Sumiatruites blanc D.O Penedès. Les quantitats estant bé. Pel que fa als postres, tarta Tatin més aviat dolenta i el coulant ho sento molt però horrible, el pitjor que he tastat mai.

El menjar en general crec que és bo, i bones quantitats, ara bé les postres realment no estan a l'alçada però ni de lluny..

Finalment crec que la relació qualitat/preu està una mica descompensada. Hem pagat 108 euros per una àpat que al meu entendre no hauria de passar de 90 euros. No em queixo dels 108 euros, sinó de la contrapartida. El que reps a canvi crec que no ho val. Suposo que la ubicació del local, i el fet que sol ser freqüentat per turistes centre-europeus amb major nivell adquisitiu et permet inflar els preus un 20%, però per la gent local crec que hi ha altres...

Well kept restaurant in the shopping street of Empuriabrava.

We ordered only a main course and had a Sirloin steak and a Wagyu burger. The steak was okay; asked for medium and got medium. However, we wanted more of the du grilled as taste and caramelization on the meat. Burger was very nice; juicy meat and just simple; no fancy sauces or other adds.

Although not offered by the staff, they have an extensive wine selections. We had a very tasteful red wine; Enchanteri.

We were seated near the street, so for us not that cosy. The staff was kind; not that...
