La Cuina de l'Epi — Restaurant in Castell d'Aro, Platja d'Aro i s'Agaró

Small(er) restaurant in a street next to the busy main road. Mostly tapas but they also serve main dishes(fish and meat). Everything is well prepared, tastes fresh and looks good. The amount is certainly enough to fill your hungry stomach.

The downside here is the waiting. This is the second time we came to eat here and last time it was very busy and we had to wait for over an hour to get the bill. This time it took a bit more time than was comfortable to place the order and we didn't get to see the menu for the wine/drinks. Given that I could've asked but I'm the one that finds it only natural I get it it without asking.

We will certainly come again and the lesser points are a bit of a nuisance but we have time on holiday and "let it go" a bit more.

We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but things didn’t go as expected. The service was slow and a bit chaotic. Cutlery arrived after the food, and we had to ask several times before we could finally get the bill.

The biggest letdown was the entrecôte. What we were served wasn’t an entrecôte at all, since it had a large bone and no proper sear. The meat looked almost boiled, it was extremely tough, difficult to cut, and served completely cold. It came on what was supposed to be a hot stone, but the stone itself was cold too.

When we pointed it out, nothing was done. No alternative was offered, and it was not taken off the bill.

Lamentablemente tenemos que darles una valoración baja, hacía un par de años habíamos ido y nos gustó mucho tanto el trato del dueño como la comida, pero esta vez ha sido para no volver. Empezamos con el servicio de mesas, pedimos dos Bacardí cola con un hielo, el cual tenemos que recordarles en dos ocasiones que no nos han traído las bebidas con lo que nos responden que las están preparando. (20 minutos) Cuando las traen hay 10 hielos por vaso y está totalmente aguado, tenemos dudas de si habían puesto el Bacardí o no. No dijimos nada. En cuanto a la comida, pedimos berenjenas con miel (que se la dejaron de poner) y queso de cabra, se podía nadar en el aceite que había, incomestible. Pedimos croquetas de fua que de sabor estaban muy buenas pero completamente frías, parecían recalentadas. Los pinchos de angus teriyaki, incomestibles de duros. Las bravas completamente frías y recalentadas en microondas. Y por último pedimos también como una coca de cebolla caramelizada con huevo y panceta, la coca estaba como deshecha y era completamente insulso.
