Hostal Les Fonts — Restaurant in Castellar de n'Hug

Yesterday we returned from a trip to Fonts del Llobregat and stopped at this wonderful place for lunch.

High up in the mountains, surrounded by stunning nature and breathtaking views, you’ll find this charming hotel-restaurant.

The restaurant itself is very clean, well cared for, and tastefully decorated, giving it a special charm and cozy atmosphere. Comfortable leather seating runs along the walls, the windows have lovely, homey curtains, and the tables are set with pleasant leather mats.

The true star of the place is the large round fireplace in the center of the dining room. It gives off a pleasant warmth and the soft crackling of burning wood — so relaxing that you simply don’t want to leave.

The food was delicious, real homemade-style cooking. We especially loved the duck with apple purée, the eggs with mushrooms and bacon, and the magnificent ice cream with liqueur. The coffee was wonderful too!

Many thanks to Adam for the excellent service — everything we needed appeared at our table before we even thought to ask: wet wipes, cutlery, water, and a little welcome bowl of olives. 😊 Adam also shared with us the story of the beautiful fireplace.

The star rating of this place doesn't do it justice, I found the owners and staff the most friendly and helpful that I have ever met.||The room we had was on the top floor, it was spacious modern and clean with a decent size bathroom.||We had bed, breakfast and evening meal, the breakfast was buffet style with the usual continental type things, fuet, jamon, a selection of cheeses, bread, tomatoes, chocolate, juices etc etc.||The evening meal was a three course dinner with waitress service and was better than a lot of expensive restaurants that I've been in. Drinks at the dinner were extra although there was a vermouth included, all very nice and good value.||Bar prices were cheaper than a lot of beach resorts||All in all an excellent...
