Restaurante Asador El Cuquillo — Restaurant in Castril

Update: We have been to this restaurant every few months since the first time and have always enjoyed the Menu del día. I believe that the last two times we've been, it's been under different ownership compared with the first time. The food continues to be just as good.

We enjoyed a fantastic Menú del día on the terrace at Restaurante Asador El Cuquillo for lunch today. It was our first time at the restaurant and we loved everything about it - the service was excellent, the food really good and well presented, and the pricing was fair. The toilets were also clean and had toilet paper, soap and a hand dryer... something that not all restaurants here have, sadly.

Fabulous lunch experience. The €12 menu del dias with drink, bread, starter, main and dessert was excellent value. A mixed octopus salad starter was full of flavour/extremely tasty. As was the grilled pork and patatas main. A varied and appealing selection of desserts included. Worth the few extra kms driving east out of Castril. The setting/immediate location is not the best, but the quality of food, value for money and friendly service from the young (English speaking) staff member from Alicante/Benidorm, more than compensated....

No me he sentido tan humillada como cliente en mi vida como en este local, llegamos 4 personas a comer y teniendo mesas libres dentro nos dicen que en la puerta en pleno mes de enero. Después nos meten prisa para pedir porque tenían una reserva grande a punto de llegar y tragando saliva y palabras...me dispongo a pedir y me sueltan que normalmente no atienden a gente de fuera🤔....perdona??? Ya cansada de aguantar ese mal trato y antipatía nos levantamos de la mesa y nos vamos sin comer. Aún me dice el camarero en su defensa que no pasa nada que nos atienden pero que nos demos prisa porque llega la montería......puffffff no vuelvo ni recomiendo por nada del mundo ir allí....
