Gastrobar Matavinos — Restaurant in Cehegín

We went as a foursome on a Friday night, the bar wasn't serving food until 9 but drinks yes. (8.25pm) So we all seated opposite the entrance. After waiting 10 minutes "Mario"(name on shirt) eventually took our drinks order. Just before 9pm he took our tapas orders. Here is what we received the Patatas bravas like irregular potato chips (probably from a frozen bag ) then two squirts of red and garlic sauces from a bottle by the taste and they looked awful, and tasted hard, like they'd been microwaved? The fried fish pieces were like packet frozen ones, the salmon salad had no salmon in it and was not as described on the "QR" code menu we were given (not all of us had phones with data, so reading the menu was awkward). The wine was local and decidedly poor. The burger with fried egg and bacon was good, but the fries that came with it were undercooked and inedible, this was mentioned to "Mario" who took them away but new ones never returned, and nothing was taken off our bill. Then to top it off the bill was split 40€ per couple, I went first with my card only to discover later 41€ was charged ( an extra 1€ sneaked on the card machine). Durante el verano, tuve la oportunidad de ser invitado a “Gastrobar Matavinos”, un encantador establecimiento conocido por su cálida hospitalidad. Aunque el aparcamiento puede ser un desafío, ya que el sol inclemente no ofrece tregua, este detalle palidece en comparación con lo que el gastrobar tiene para ofrecer.

Lo que realmente resalta es el trato familiar y cercano que brindan. Es evidente que ponen el corazón en cada interacción, creando una atmósfera acogedora que te hace sentir como en casa.

En cuanto a la comida, aunque no tuve la suerte de elegir directamente del menú debido a una distracción, la selección de platos variados que nos sirvieron fue una grata sorpresa. Las croquetas de gambas eran exquisitas, con una textura perfecta y un sabor que capturaba la esencia del mar. La pata de pulpo asada era otro triunfo culinario, tierna y sabrosa, un verdadero deleite.

Sin embargo, no todo fue de mi agrado. El tataki, ya sea de atún o salmón, no logró conquistar mi paladar, aunque mis acompañantes discreparon, encontrándolo excepcional. Las tostadas de sardina ahumada con mayonesa de aguacate también recibieron elogios, aunque no tuve la oportunidad de probarlas.

Debo admitir que salí con algo de hambre, pero mis compañeros quedaron más que satisfechos. La próxima vez, tomaré las riendas y haré mi propia elección del menú. Para endulzar el final, el postre fue excepcionalmente bueno. Adjunto algunas fotos para que puedan apreciar la presentación de los platos.
