We ate and stayed here, so this is two reviews.||First the accomodation: they have a couple of downstairs rooms that may be hired by the night and an appartment above the rooms for longer stays. We occupied a downstairs room which was simple but quite adequate and with a beautiful view over the estuary and the wetlands that constantly changed with tides and time of day. The upstairs appartment was not occupied during our stay. Surprisingly there was a wifi connection that was generally adequate.||The restaurant, although quite basically furnished and decorated, has marvellous views similar to those from the bedroom. The menu is generally based on local specialities. The young waitress at lunch was so obtuse that had the place not been so isolated I would have probably got up and left. Perhaps she is new or feels insecure with foreigners, but her attitude was totally unhelpful bordering on the aggressive. The lady who runs the restaurant and lodgings was, on the contrary, affable.|| We had come here for the views and to try the house specialty: cocido montañes. Having, with difficulty, determined from the young waitress what the cocido montañes was made from, we ordered for two. She returned to inform us that they hadn't got any!! Shortly afterwards a table of three came in, also to try the cocido montañes, but left when they heard that the object of their pilgrimage was unavailable. It is strange that very dish for which a place is renowned, and which can be prepared in advance and reheated, is "off". So we settled for red beans with black pudding and it was very tasty. I had a a home made cheese flan for dessert that was...
Read moreThis is a place to try traditional home cooking. Follow their menu you will find an experience of returning home, even you are not Spanish. ;) The waiters are so nice and patient. When we heard the next table wanted to create a whole new menu, we were sorry for their lack of respect. But the waiters handled very well. I actually had doubts because some comments I read beforehand were saying their menu was overpriced and the food quality was not good, let me tell you with my experience now, those are total BS. Check how many awards they had, those...
