La Terraza de Mateo — Restaurant in Constantina

Truly exceptional experience in a wonderful setting in the town centre. Excellent service provided by Alberto, the proprietor who along with his wife, runs the business, which also happens to be attached to their home where they raise their kids and a gorgeous Golden Retriever.

La Terraza de Mateo is such a great spot if you’re in the mood for tapas. The food is fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing — we loved the patatas with aioli, croquettas, and steak in whisky sauce especially.

The alfresco dinning is a perfect place you can hang out with friends for hours over drinks and small plates. Their version of Sangria was spot-on and paired perfectly with the food.

Service was friendly and prompt, the place was clean and buzzing with local diners...Alberto gave some great recommendations when we weren’t sure what to try. He was extremely patient with our order especially due to the language barrier and always had a friendly smile on his face.

We stayed in Constantina from the 21st to the 25th of August, 2025. We walked into town on day 1 and happened to stumble across La Terraza De Mateo so we stopped there for a quick drink. Alberto, the owner, was warm and friendly and managed to make us feel at home even though we didn’t speak the same language. We enjoyed the experience so much that we returned for a meal the next day. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing. The ambience was excellent. The beer was chilled.
