The place caters for passing tourists and locals using the bar including the surfing school behind the hotel. The café and restaurant are just above road level while the hotel accommodation sits below. If you're lucky you'll enjoy a pleasant view, or, if unlucky may be too low and suffer from little or no view and a persistent musty odour, probably due to its position above the stream and insufficient damp protection. Read moreMy wife and I are walking the Camino del Norte from Asturias airport to Santiago. This was our first stop. We went from Soto del Barco via the coastal footpath from St Estaban (superb) and arrived tired and hungry at the Hotel Azpiazu just beyond the end of the beach at Aguilar.||The lady on the desk was very welcoming and showed us a nice room for a very reasonable 40 Euros ( with a sea view!). ||We were too late for lunch and could not wait until 8 to eat ( no sleep the night before) so the obliging patron made us some beautiful ham bocadillos washed down with a drink.||Breakfast was standard desayuno and arrived promptly at 8 as requested. ||A fairly standard room (everything works properly)raised by the helpfulness of the people...
