Hotel Lucero — Restaurant in Cuevas del Almanzora

Used the bar restaurant adjoining the hotel (not the hotel itself). Great stop off location for a bite to eat. Typically rustic Spanish style venue servicing breakfast and tapas food choices. Unable to say about main meals as we have yet to explore the full offerings here. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the restaurant is clearly popular with locals and having tried the quality of tapas on offer here it's obvious why. Freshly prepared and of very good quality, pricing is aimed at the local community so isn't loaded to take extra advantage of tourists. The service is quick and cordial, nothing is too much trouble. Fabio is a very amiable guy and attentive. The location is on the main service road for the town so it's not exactly scenic plus parking spaces are limited but other parking can be found a short walk away. We stopped for a night on our way further south. Rosa on reception was great, very welcoming and quick to make sure we had everything we needed. The room (304) was much bigger than we had expected, spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. Shower was great, plenty of towels provided and some shower gels and shampoos were there if we needed them. Overall we were very pleased with our night at Lucero.||The restaurant on site was not open but there is a supermarket just a 5 minute walk up the road and the nearby La Parra tapas terrace is open until late and very popular with locals.||Thanks again to Rosa for welcoming us so warmly and making a fuss...
