We decided to eat at La Dulce Casa in Palomares this evening following a recommendation from one of the locals, unfortunately it wasn't anywhere we will be recommending, quite the opposite! We were seated at a table next to the window which was nice enough, we were first to order as we had arrived at 18:30 when they started serving food! Another table of 4 had arrived at the same time, and had their order taken just after. The Chef did say when she took our order to bear with her as she was on her own, and she was expecting help soon. My wife offered to help in the kitchen, but the offer was turned down, no worries... An hour passed and still our food hadn't arrived, the other table had now eaten and left!! Nothing extravagant ordered just 2 burgers, a Chicken wrap and Teriyaki beef. Eventually our food arrived, an hour and a quarter after we ordered, my Bacon cheeseburger was missing it's bacon, my sons surf and turf burger with cajon prawns was a cheeseburger with 4 prawns on a cocktail stick stuck in the top, no sign of any surf, I'm guessing it should have some scampi or other fishy delights in the mix! Mums Teriyaki beef was chewy not crispy! Wow, so disappointing. At no point in our 2 hour visit were empty glasses collected from our table, and we weren't asked if we would like any more drinks, neither were we asked if our food was alright! Or any apology offered for the excessive wait. I'd like to make a point here that I really don't think that the staff on duty (all 2 of them, 1 chef, 1 F.o.h) are to blame, well not entirely, It was clear that they had been left to fend for themselves with no help from management or proprietors.
Sorry but we won't...
Read moreLa Dulce Casa in Palamares, Almeria, offers an exceptional lunch experience at a reasonable price.
The cheese and spinach quiche was rich and flavorful, with a perfectly flaky crust and a well-balanced filling.
The highlight, however, was the steak and chips. The steak was cooked to perfection—juicy and tender, with a delicious sear that locked in all the flavors.
The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, complementing the steak wonderfully. I also tried the chicken, which was crispy and delicious, adding another layer of satisfaction to the meal.
The warm, welcoming atmosphere and attentive service made the meal even more enjoyable. With a price range of approximately €15-€25 per person, La Dulce Casa is a must-visit for anyone seeking a satisfying and memorable dining experience in...
Read moreShame you cant give more stars than 5. Best place in Palomares if you cant speak Spanish, as they are all English speaking. (Bear in mind that they do not open Sunday or Monday and close at 9 local time). Its also a good place to meet and team up with local ex-Pat Brits for a ye ole English chin wag and get lots of local advice for English speakers with limited Spanish. The staff are some of the nicest, most polite, helpful and attentive that, we have had the pleasure to encounter anywhere, ever. The food is great and inexpensive. Small beer and a tapas for €2, if you want a snack, up to fillet steak and chips for €11.50, with other great options like burgers etc. in between. And, if you just want a drink only, no problem. If you're in the area for the first time, go there, you will not be...
