This local tapas bar is on the main town square next to the town hall. It offers a "Menu del día" (starter, main course, dessert, wine or beer and coffee) at €9. I ate there recently with a friend and we started with a Russian salad, followed by lamb chops and chips (accompanied by a mixed salad) and we ended with an ice cream each. In addition to the food, a carafe of wine and a bottle of gaseosa was placed on the table. Finally we each had a coffee. The total bill came to €18. We had a couple of beers before we sat down which cost €1.50 apiece including a small tapas. The meal was delicious and excellent value.
However, La Burraka's main claim to fame is its wide range of tapas which are available throughout the day. The tapas include crab claws, frogs' legs, pigs' ears & tails, chicken wings, and salmon rolls (there are over 40 on offer including items suitable for vegetarians). In addition the bar offers sandwiches, as well as paellas and roasts to take away if you are staying in one of the local "Casas Rurales" (holiday cottages/gites) .
This is very much a local bar and it tends to get very full around lunchtime, though there is nearly always room on the shaded terrace in the front. In the height of summer this can be quite warm, but is an excellent spot for watching village life in the evening. However, the villagers leave at around 2.30 and you should get a table quite easily or you can eat in the air-conditioned first floor restaurant (no access to wheelchair users).
By the way, if drinking local wine from a carafe, particularly in summer. I recommend mixing it with gaseosa which not only smooths out any roughness, but makes a refreshing drink to replace the fluids lost in the heat.
The owners permit dogs on the terrace, but as usual in Spain (it is actually against the law), dogs are not permitted inside. There is a good free wifi connection and the toilets are acceptable Parking is easy and this bar restaurant is recommended on grounds of location, quality and price.
