La Calleja de Urbano — Restaurant in El Burgo Ranero

Walked in after a long hot walk on the Camino, freshly showered in clean clothes hoping for a cool beer, well before the advertised closing time of 4:30, the place looked fantastic, but the bartender upon seeing us walk in waved his hands and said in English "closed", so I guess the advertised hours of business posted on the board outside his front door are a mere suggestion or, more likely, he doesn't care for peregrinos (an advertisement for the restaurant on the municipal albergue has the 'menu de peregrinos'...

So, I walked in off the Camino. 8.5km without shade in 37degrees. I walked into a busy bar to be told that it was closed. Everyone in the bar thought it was funny. I asked if he would pleased fill my water bottle or let me buy water, and he angrily told me that it was closed. I may have caught him on an off-day but I doubt it. The one stars should...

El mejor restaurante de la comarca sin duda alguna lo encontramos en Calzadilla de los Hermanillos, una cocina excelente, con productos de la Tierra, una bodega también muy de la Tierra y todo ello en un marco incomparable ya que toda su decoración, incluida la pintura de Marin de la Red, artista de tierras del Cea, hace que junto con los elementos tradicionales sea un lugar donde deleitar paladar y vista.

Lo lideran un matrimonio dedicado a la hostelería prácticamente toda su vida, lo que hace de ello un servicio inmejorable.

Cuenta con un espacio amplio y mucha luz, una entrada digna de museo etnológico, y una terraza ocupando lo que se denomina con su propio nombre La Calleja de Urbano. Sin duda un lugar muy acogedor.
