Restaurant review only!! Pros: Helpful waiter, poolside tables and peaceful place. Food tastes good too, really thin crispy pizza bases! However, I visited the restaurant for dinner recently as a party of 4. Our waiter was friendly and very helpful, but certainly overwhelmed and under supported. After ordering (and getting) our first drinks, we had to wait for the table beside us to finish with the menus before they were passed to us, this was 45 mins in already... However, after 10 mins or so, we were informed no steaks were available (even though that's what we came for), so we needed to reorder. Then, it took almost 30 more (almost 90 minutes from arrival) to get our main course (no starters were ordered apart from bread and alioli - we literally got 6 slices between 4 people.) The alioli was homemade and delicious!!
When the mains finally arrived, 2 (tasty) pork schnitzels were served, but 2 dishes (pizzas) were forgotten. By the time they arrived, the first two served were already finished their meals. Trying to order extras in between, such as more drinks, an ashtray, dessert or simply more ice, was hit and miss at best as he was so busy until some help arrived later on. Even though the Eton mess dessert for 2 of us was truly delish, I'm sad to say we were somewhat disappointed overall, as, living relatively locally, we always enjoy discovering new eateries and wanted to take our 2 best friends there for the first time while here on their holiday. Not sure if we'll be back though... Having worked in hospitality before, I understand things can go wrong, however, understaffing was clearly the issue here, so I hope the management will revise their policy on that front, as the food we got was mostly great (rucula forgotten on the hastily-made salmon pizza), the place just needs more feet on the floor during high season evenings. Especially to answer the phone in the afternoons, so people can make reservations that staff can better prepare for. Being honest and fair here...I always give credit...
Read moreHad an evening event here before Christmas. The service was excellent could not fault the food. We had 4 excellent choices of food to choose from all different I had messaged ahead as it was advertised as a curry night and said I do not do spicy curry. I was told I could choose what I like of the main menu. I did I placed my order and was told it would be €3 more. This was not a problem was told them was fine. I arrive at the function and said what I had ordered, no one knew anything about it. The previous owner had answered my question on the website and told me I could have anything on the menu. So i was thinking oh dear i will have to have curry or go without. The waiter of the evening explained that there was 4 choices on the menu to choose from 2 curries and 2 other dishes. I had spaghetti carbonara it was excellent and I really enjoyed it. So I complained to whoever was answering me that evening and he told me I could have a free meal of the al la carte menu. He said just ask for 2 people by name they will know. It was a shame someone tried to interfere and cause problems and I was not the only one they had caused problems for that day. I absolutely with out a doubt be going back to Finca La Montenosa again as I know the food is of a high quality and standard. The staff are lovely and really work hard. Maar helaas Nieuwe Nederlandse eigenaar een vishandelaar uit de buurt had dit bedrijf overgenomen , kwamen er nog voor de officiële opening, dus hij had geen menukaart maar wel lekkerbekjes en kibbeling, hij had ook gerookte paling en er zouden nog meer vissoorten in het menu zouden worden opgenomen. Hebben gebakken visje en kibbeling besteld en gegeten beide waren heerlijk. kwam er een maand later weer, in de hoop een fijn vis restaurant te hebben gevonden, maar wat een afgang menukaart was niet erg origineel, broodje kroket, broodje frikandel , en nog meer frituur rommel, gelukkig het gebakken visje stond nog wel op de kaart, maar ook dit was een enorme teleurstelling, smaakloze slappe vette hap, dus maar laten staan. Nog even met de eigenaar gesproken , want ik zeg het niet graag tegen het bedienend personeel, want die kan er ook niets aan doen, personeel zeer onervaren en nerveus, riep steeds dat het zo druk was in de keuken, er zaten 15 mensen op het terras en niemand had eten voor zich op tafel staan. hebben ook nog een uur op deze vette smaakloze rommel moeten wachten, dus in plaats van een leuk en lekker visrestaurant, hebben we er weer een frituurtent er bij in Hondon, de 12 e geloof ik zo langzaam en allemaal de zelfde soort kaart, maar gelukkig kan een enkele zaak hier in de buurt nog een redelijke biefstuk bakken. Erg jammer dat ze altijd maar de gemakkelijkste weg kiezen , met iets meer moeite en fantasie en keukenpersoneel met verstand van koken en bediening die een beetje interesse had in hun werk, en je had je in een mum van tijd een goedlopend restaurant, want de meeste buitenlandse bewoners balen van al deze zaken. Erg teleurgesteld want de eerste keer met de eigenaar gesproken en die verteld zijn plannen, die klonken goed, maar uiteindelijk weer een soort slechte snackbar. Hoop dat deze zaak er een nieuwe draai aangeeft, want dit is meer als slecht om betalende gasten dit voor te zetten gewoon een belediging. En wij wachten wel af als , er weer enkele positieve recensies komen , voor wij hier weer...
