El Cortijo Paredón — Restaurant in el Pinós / Pinoso

Went on for a menu del dia €8 not a bad price for 2 plates... € 10 for three courses.incl a drink Quite a decent selection, 3 of us ate. Prawn cocktail starters were good.Main course selection was liver onions with mash and 3 veg....got boiled potatoes one was raw. Next was roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. No roast potatoes only boiled no roast parsnips just boiled veg. The third was a mini mixed grill. Sausage gammon pork steak. With egg chips and mushrooms. We asked please no pork the waitress who was excellent by the way said no probs will get you extra mushrooms. This grill came with liver instead of pork when this was mentioned the cook came up said sorry excuse fingers and took the liver off the plate with her fingers at the table......frankly attrocious there was only 3 of us eating at that time...not...

Well first things first! Thanks to the chef! I ordered the lasagna, to be advised that they were out of lasagna. Moments later the chef came out to apologise, he stated that there was a lasagna, but it was not up to standard. He wouldn’t eat it! So thank you so much for that honesty!

We found this place sorta by accident whilst we were looking for somewhere after the bodega visit. The service was prompt and friendly. We didn’t have to wait too long before it arrived piping hot and a huge portion! It was too much for all of us! Good quality food (providing the right chef is in duty 😉) and good value. El Cortijo Paredón staff and management are very friendly and approachable. It has great mountain views all around and the bar / restaurant is well presented with a clean natural feel. The food is great for the price and very well presented. My first choice main unfortunately was not available. Also my garlic mushroom starter was lacking a real garlic kick. Righting these with a couple more mains options on the menu would have definitely taken my review to a 5 star. I'm sure the menu will grow and they were happy to receive my constructive criticism of the mushrooms for future improvement. As a group of four I was the only person with anything negative to say.
