Bodegas Pinoso — Restaurant in el Pinós / Pinoso

Surprising how much this little co-operativo bodega and shop has to offer. Like many cooperatives it has two sides to the business: it is a retailer selling the products from local farming. Also the products farmers need to cultivate grapes, olives and almonds. In summer they have a range for garden and pool maintenance too. Try the locally produced wines, for every day drinking or something...

Roberto from Pinoso showed us around the cellar, which waas pioneer for organic wines in the region. Everything was nice -not at least the tasting, where the Cepa 50 and its "big brother" 1932 wasa outstanding. The cellar has also a cozy shop, which is not only for visitors, but not at least the employed, as nearly everything can be bought! Also Pinos is a nice town with some decent, cheap...

We happened on this bodega by pure chance. Are we glad we did? Most certainly. We purchased a box of ecological Vermador a Monastrell, petit Verdot red wine. So delighted with this full bodied, very fruity wine. This is the nicest red wine we have had the pleasure to drink here in Spain. Pinoso is not on our doorstep but we are making a special day out to go and buy...
