Home cooking all around. You order from what's cooked and displayed on the hot plates. Full of flavours. First visit we had to take away as it got really busy (it is a small establishment, family run). 2nd visit we came in early. Great tapas and you choose the wine from the Barrell. Today the paella was excellent, but also ordered the meat balls and the pan fried liver, really delicious. It seems you get to pay per glass of wine, €2? However if you buy the litre of wine and drink at the table, Costs €2.70 per litre, it works out much much cheaper. We loved the Spanish way of life here, that still lives on, despite so many urbanisations around with so many nationalities. Also it is good to see they revived after closing during COVID. Add the EU restrictions on wine brands and brandy, you are now lucky they have more to offer, i guess from other vineyards around Spain, rather than Alicante only. If you plan to visit at midday when they open, I've noticed lots of reserved tables. Perhaps ring to book first. It is not a quiet place. Everyone talking. But wheel chair accessible and an easy parking in front of the restaurant. Remember it is not fancy food. But definitely...
Read moreWe reserved a table for 13 people — 8 adults and 5 children — and everything went perfectly. We had pre-ordered a meat platter for four, a fish platter for four, and paella for four, which was more than enough for all of us — and we finished everything! These dishes need to be ordered in advance. We were all truly impressed — this was the best paella we’ve ever had. Everything was incredibly delicious, the service was very friendly, and the price was absolutely fair. The atmosphere is warm and family-like. You can even taste the wine before ordering, and at the end you simply let them know how many glasses you’ve had. We visited last year, came back again this year, and will return once more in September. We’re from Germany and were...
Read moreJust before you enter the town of La Marina, from the direction of Guardamar, past the camping park ,which should be on your right, about 200 meters on the right is this small bodega, wine shop, bar and tapas. The wine you get straight from the barrel, either by the glass or by the bottle. You can take your own bottle or for a small charge they will supply you with one. The price per litre starts at about 1.75 euros/litre up to the expensive stuff for little over 2.00euros to take away. The tapas ( we had already eaten at home) looked tempting and was obviously home made. A nice inexpensive Spanish experience. Easily missed unless your looking for it but a must try stop. I hope you enjoy your visit, please push the helpful or like...
