El Gallo — Restaurant in Ferreries

I don’t give stars very easily so 5 stars has to be incredible for me. This authentic rustic Spanish grill restaurant set in an outdoor vine covered terrace tucked away from the mainstream gets an easy 4.

Great people, service, lovely food and good value too. We paid about €30 per head for 2 courses with drinks and bread and olives, and had 4 very hungry teenagers with us who left stuffed.

There’s no fish on the menu much, but the steaks and paella are great - the paella is not sea food but very yummy and interesting.

The terrace was nice and cool on a very hot day so don’t be put off by the dirt road or external appearance, get inside and enjoy...

About 10 minutes drive from Cala Galdana, the food here is great - we went twice. The menu is small, which is usually a good sign! The grilled meats are excellent and the paella was really really good. Highly recommended for a visit, the only reservation is that seating is under a large pergola covered completely in grape vines. As such, there's a few insects around, nothing horrendous that will put you off your dinner but worth using a bit of repellent...
