We had a great experience. We chose the degustation menu and it was great. Two things that I would do different if I were the chef/owner:

since the patio is small, I would not allow guests to smoke there. Not nice to be tasting all these nicely prepared dishes with someone smoking next to you. Also, some people had food inside and came to the patio to have coffee and smoke. So out of 4 tables, one was empty, and two had smokers.

-when making a reservation, one is asked to answer if it is for a special occasion. In our case, it was for a birthday. Although we selected the option "birthday" while making the reservation, nothing was done about it. Not a big deal as the dishes were nicely prepared but it would have been special to get a little treat since it was for a birthday.

We went based on a recommendation, and we didn't leave disappointed at all! Very nice restaurant situated in a picturesque village. The menu is large enough to cater to any taste. This is the typical restaurant where the food tastes even better than what you would expect based on reading the menu. We particularly liked the fresh, warm focaccia bread with smoked butter, the burrata, pigeon, and the dessert selection. In Sao, you will find an extensive tasting menu in a local restaurant, serving some dishes that will really excite the taste buds. The mushrooms, tuna and pistachio dessert were especially worth a mention. Service was friendly and professional. The price to experience was also really good.

Why not 5 stars? little details let it down, the place lacked ambience the night we were there, and some dishes were a no for me…specifically the foie, kale and the beef was a bit chewy.
