A Magical Dining Experience with Unforgettable Views and Hospitality From the moment we made our reservation, we knew we were in for something special. Our host, Cecilia, was incredibly responsive—even accommodating a last-minute change to our reservation time with grace and ease. Upon arrival, the breathtaking 360-degree views instantly set the tone for a memorable evening. Cecilia greeted us warmly and seated us with a smile that radiated genuine hospitality. Her charm and authenticity reflected the heart of Frigiliana’s small village spirit. Despite our limited Spanish, she made us feel completely at ease and guided us through the menu with kindness and care. We indulged in a variety of homemade dishes that showcased the love and tradition behind each recipe. We began with local olives, serrano ham, fresh homemade bread, and the refreshing La Venta salad. For mains, we enjoyed homemade ravioli with Bolognese sauce, meatballs in almond sauce, and a perfectly cooked smoked pork chop. Each dish was flavorful, generously portioned, and beautifully presented. Though we were full, we couldn’t resist dessert—and we’re glad we didn’t! Cecilia’s homemade cheesecake, bread pudding, apple pie, and a delightful ice cream dessert were the perfect sweet ending to our meal. The food, the views, and above all, Cecilia’s heartfelt service made this one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had. You could truly taste the love in every bite. We left with full hearts, full bellies, and even a few hugs. Highly recommend La Venta de Frigiliana for anyone seeking authentic food, stunning scenery, and the warmest...
Read moreWe were driving around the hills above Frigiliana avoiding the boisterous day tripper crowds and waiting to check into our rental when we saw a small sign for La Venta de Frigiliana and whipped off the curvy mountain road onto the short drive. That drive leads to the most spectacular view where the lovely and charming Cecelia runs a beautiful and welcoming posada where she greets and treats you like prodigal family. We were the only ones on the terraza to enjoy sweeping views of Frigiliana, Nerja, and the Mediterranean beyond. Cecelia concocted us a pitcher of Sangria (Do we taste brandy? Was that a clove I inhaled?) then brought us a mound of crazy-delicious olives from her own orchard clinging to the hills below La Venta. Lunch was a plate of jamon & melon followed by a gratinado of vegetables and a consommé of seafood with huge chunks of cod, prawn, and delectable clams and mussels in a citrus broth that arrived table side burbling in a terra cotta pot. This afternoon was EXACTLY why we traveled all the way to Spain. Cecelia made our day and exemplified the Andalusian spirit of hospitality. She also patiently tolerated my old broken Spanish which I dearly - and annoyingly - love to practice on unsuspecting new acquaintances. If I could grab a few extra stars out of the fabulous Mediterranean night, I’d give...
Read moreWe had a fantastic experience at La Venta with Cecilia! We first came across this lovely hideaway whilst driving up in the hills above Frigiliana but at the time we couldn’t stop (our 2 year old was napping!) so we decided to go back a few days later for lunch. We were surprised to be the only one’s there! The views are worth the trip in itself (every table has a view) and Cecilia was a fantastic host - a favourite with our little girl who absolutely adored her! The food was great we especially enjoyed the BBQ pork and bread pudding. There’s also kids options for smaller portions which was ideal for us and having the space for a little one to roam around safely while enjoying the view/food was a big bonus for us! (We appreciate this might not have been possible if it was busier!). We will definitely be...
