We went today for a luncheon. The place's location is just out of this world; overlooking the skies and sea with the depths of a cliff. Just breathtaking.
We had a table reservation and it was very nice, although I must said there was a table with even better views of the ocean that was 'occupied' turns out it was kept for friends of the restaurant. A bit of a rude, unnecessary move for a business.
Then ordering food came. The menu is very short and just printed in stationaries. Very unique and minimalistic approach. However.
It was also weirdly formatted and ordering turned to be a chore because the waitress, although delightful and very hard working, they were behijd a very obvious language barrier.
Before food we were served some 'salad shots' of melon and a translucid, cooked onion soup. Wasn't a fan.
Food arrived rather quickly and it was delicious. We had a fish stew, served in a bowl, similar to my tomato apricot soup. It was salty, sweet and spicy. A treat.
My salad with shrimp and chorizo was okay. It was a mixture I wasn't expecting but also didn't work for me.
My sirloin was rare. Excellent cooked served with a chili chocolate sauce and a squach onion pepper blend. Just delicious, but not outrageous.
I had a tiramisu as a dessert which was a bit puzzling, served on a mostly tasteless dough with toasted nuts. It was okay but you won't see me ordering that particular item again.
It was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely come again. Not a full score because some of the food wasn't my cup of tea. But overall it was fantastic....
Read moreBest restaurant in the Canary Islands! (so far...) Delicious food, perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, amazing value 4 course menu and wines that don't cost excessively either. Full menu with wines and apero and you won't break more than 40€pp... It's extremely busy so you must book at least a week in advance to be sure of even availability that day, but we'll worth it. These guys are doing an amazing job with mostly local ingredients. They do it with style, they know it (but are both confident and humble in equal measure) as do the locals...a real treat and with the views over the clouds at sunset and you won't want to be anywhere...
