Hello
We have been in the restaurant of el castillo arteaga last month to make a small celebration for my wedding and invited my friends to have lunch there.
In first approache we went there and talked to the people on reception of the hotel a week ago and they seemed very helpful and agreed for providing our requests for lunch so we decided to make reservation for 9 people.in fact i had informed them that we might come with 10 people and they said its not a problem for them And also the people on reception told us that they put remark on our reservation in their system that we are going to celebrate a wedding and will do all necessary things.
Infact we asked that if we need to talk anybody else in the hotel about our celebration and the person in the reception said that since its not a big wedding party we dont need to talked to any other person that is in charge for weddings.
But all terrible things started right after we arrived the hotel/ restaurant. First they showed us the table which we wouldn't prefer because it was not in an appropriate for gathering with friends.
Secondly the table was not big enough for 9 people and almost we were sharing same plates to eat because of being very stretched place and it was really disturbing.
After we sat down i have noticed that the menu which we reserved and they confirmed was not given to us. It was totally diferent. So i had to go and talk to person in charge that the menu is different than we have reserved. So she even didn't brother herself to check our reservation and said that nobody informed any details about our reservation and gave me a bunch of paper that written the daily menu that we had reserved.
So we had to grab the wrong menus from the hands of my guests while they were ready to make order and explained that there was problem in the menus etc.. and we gave them correct menu.
Ofcourse my face turned to red after such a shameful situation and had to apologise for it.
What could be the worse on my special day. Wait ! after i picked the menu to choose and had another shock after seeing the prices that written in the menu. Incredible! We already were confirmed by the person in the hotel reception that the menus will be without price and put in a proper folder.
So some of our guests asked me that whether lunch will be paid by them or me :(((
Later on some of our guests chosen from dishes from menu and asked whether it has pork product or not because they cant eat it. The camarera said yes it has pork you have to choose another dish from menu and after 2 minutes she came back and said that no it doesnt have pork. incredible!
Regarding the food quality and presentation is something you can find in a avarage class restaurant that there are many nearby arteaga with cheaper price.
At final we had to leave the restaurant with big disappointment and embarrassment. Even nobody bother themself to make explanation or apologise for it.
In conclusion please think twice if you are planning to have spacial day with your partner or friend in el castillo arteaga not to regret.
Ps i hope that they reply this comment by accepting their fault instead of rejecting all the problems i pointed...

At the last minute after a few revisions in our schedule I checked again and one of the junior suites opened up.||||It’s the most stunning hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Go on line. It is all that. I mean, it really is. And for the price? Forget it. Just brilliant. ||||Our room was in one of the turrets of a castle. It has a spiral staircase leading up to the top for a private balcony. There are tables, chairs, and lights/candles up there. Bathroom is also something else, and this has to be seen to be believed. Reception was delightful, there was plenty of parking and it was easy to find. ||||Sadly it was a bit of a letdown for a number of reasons. We ate at the restaurant which was good but not exceptional which is unusual for these fantastic hotels. The food was good, service was good, value was excellent but it just wasn't exceptional. ||||Second, there were a number of quirks in the room. Although they didn't really detract from the experience, with the reputation of R & C and with my prior experience(s) at them, which have been near perfect, I was surprised. For example, the hot tap handle and the faucet in the vanity were loose and rattled around, almost an inch. Didn't affect its function, but it was not up to what I would expect from R & C. We took a blanket from the closet upstairs with us to sit on the roof and frankly it was disgusting. It was loaded with long brown hairs from a prior user and had a number of stains. Normally the stuff doesn’t bother me; I'm a guy and no prima donna and it wasn’t an outrageously expensive place, but it was not up to the standards of a hotel of this caliber. Also note - the stunning spiral staircase to the patio - well - there's no inside rail, so when you're coming down from the patio you have to be very careful not to step into the middle of the staircase...which is a gap. Typical Europe - they don't have the same legal neurosis we have in the states - i've been in many hotels with ceilings/lintels/thresholds that were too low or too high (my wife cracked her head on a lintel in Venice which could have been fatal) and you just get used to it - so just beware. ||Now that that is out of the way, the setting was gorgeous and the room simply defies description. It was the most comfortable bed on our trip and everything else was spotless. There was a complementary minibar. A little more attention to some of those details and slight improvement in the quality of the food in the restaurant would put this place right where it should be. And by the way the service in the restaurant was excellent. In my opinion these are among the finest hotels on the planet and this place should be...
