We were so lucky to have found this gem. Everything about it deserves 5 stars.
When we arrived the first time there we just picked it for the lovely views it offers. We didn't know about the place and we were expecting anything.
As soon as we arrived, Genaro was ready to give us a really warm welcome. Smiling as always, clean and tidy; he walked us to the table we chose - as he proposed his best available ones.
All the time he made us feel welcome, and we haven't even tried the food yet. Let's begin...
We like the cheeseboard as starter, which comes at the same time as the bread and butter, and two sauces that are typical in the Canary Islands: Mojo verde (green) and Mojo rojo (red) - also known as Mojo Picón - which means spicy. The green one is for me the best, delicacy only for garlic lovers!
Next, Genaro sends the mains in a timely manner, giving us the perfect gap between courses. I can almost smell that fresh meat cooked on the barbecue again. Both steak and grilled chicken breast were delicious, garnished and cooked to perfection.
The portions are right for a person who likes to eat. I have been like 3 or 4 times in the past 6 months, and I don't even live in the island.
The service is constantly excellent. The quality of the menu is unbeatable. Everything is fresh and tasty.
It already became our favourite place...
Read moreI went to this 'typical' restaurant, unfortunately the expectations were not as high as we imagined. The staff tries to make you feel comfortable but they are just noisy and not so 'professional'. They try to suggest you some dishes, and they keep saying 'Let us offer something, some bread, some potato', and then you have to pay for those things they forced you to accept with their 'tricks'
Unfortunately, the worst thing we had was the food. Everything was too much 'smoked', I would say CARBONISED. They consider them selves good at braces, but I think that kind of smokey food is literally dangerous, IN FACT, we had stomach problems the day after.
We ordered the 'Best dish' of the restaurant = Salmorejo with rabbit.
THIS IS NOT SALMOREJO, Its a HOT and SPICY sauce, very watery with no flavours at all! I will upload photos, if you know what is the REAL salmorejo you will understand.
THEN, we ordered a piece of Beef cooked on the barbecue, if you order it they will serve you LIVER! 😂 what the ??, learn to SPEAK and TYPE it on the menu! Not anyone loves Liver, its a strong flavour and it smells a lot, we expected a NORMAL steak of beef, why the hell you serve Liver without typing it on the menu?!
Everything was overpriced, it was not even worth 10€, we spent 50€
I would not recommend anyone to try this...
