Basqueland has won Best Brewer of the Year in the Spanish Beer Championship 5 of the last 6 years and it doesn’t take long to understand why. As an American spending a year in Europe, there’s much to appreciate about the (delicious and affordable) wine culture. But the US does craft beer well. Really well. And that became very clear soon after moving here. After spending time in 10 European countries over the last last year, Basqueland has proven to be the best craft beer we’ve found. We’ve tried about 10 varieties and they’d all hold their ground in any competitive craft scene in the US. While the taproom is easy to get to via bus from San Sebastián, if you can’t make it there, you can find their restaurant Basqueland Izakaia, in central San Sebastián....

Hoy por hoy, Basqueland es la meca de todos los amantes de la cerveza artesana. Si estás por la zona, vale muchísimo la pena pasarte por la fábrica.

La verdad es que el taproom podría estar un poco mejor montado. Al final, es una barra con 4 grifos y un par de mesas. Nada de comida más allá de unas bolsas de patatas ni refrescos ni nada por estilo. Solo tienen cervezas. Eso sí, las que tenían pinchadas en barril nunca las vi en Madrid. Valió la pena el viaje solamente por eso.

Los precios son bastante baratos en comparación con otros sitios. Una pinta de doble IPA a 4,5€ no se ve en ningún sitio. En las neveras tienen mucha variedad de cervezas. Si tienes suerte puedes pillar novedades antes de que se vean en otros sitios.

Además, por comprar directamente allí te hacen un 10% de descuento. Yo me he llevado 10 latas por 50 y pocos euros. Lo nunca visto para ser esta marca.
