La Estación Gastrobar — Restaurant in Huércal-Overa

We live locally so this place is ideal for us to call in for a drink. The place is lovely and the price for drinks is good. Sometimes you get a 500ml glass or 400ml depending on what they have in the freezer which I can accept. The thing is we have spent quite a few long afternoons drinking and spending some money so you would think they would look after you. No they act like it's a hardship you being there like they can't wait for you to leave. I don't know if that's because they can go home early if it's empty but it's a bad service. Getting food is like you have asked them to donate a kidney, so good luck with that in the afternoon. They are so miserable, but not just that they bang drinks down like they hate it. We may call in for drinks again but the main reason we won't be ordering food is the chef went to the toilet in his black cooking gloves and came out wearing them. He was in a while and definitely didn't have a pee because I went in after so I will let you join the dots.. disgusting! The only reason I didn't leave one star is it could be a great place, it's a lovely location and stress free, well...

What a pretty place on the outskirts of Huércal Overa. The building is the old railway station and has been renovated really well. There is plenty of parking and seats inside and outside. Dogs are welcome outside. And there is a small playground too. We ordered the calamari, scallops and pork fillet, as well as a house salad. Everything was very tasty and freshly cooked. The prices are very good and the service was friendly. This place is not far from the hospital and I would definitely recommend it, if you are looking for somewhere to eat after or before an appointment. We got there at 6.30pm hoping to have something to eat told they were not serving food till 7.30 / 8pm nearly gave up and went home but at 8.15 they started to take orders food was okay but definitely not worth the money husband had grilled pork came with a few bravatas and miniscule salad dressing I had the scrambled mushrooms and prawns they brought bread but with no oil or butter could not eat as bread dry.
