I've been meaning to write this review for a couple of months - I don't usually leave reviews, but on this occasion the experience was so bad that I have felt compelled to. Firstly, I am a long-standing resident on the island and I have actually been to Casa Maca a fair few times pre-pandemic. I chose the venue for my daughters first birthday family lunch because there was a play area to the side of the restaurant, which I mentioned when I made the booking, however to my disappointment upon arrival, I realised they have made some changes to the restaurant since my last visit and the play area is no longer there. The vibe at Casa Maca has always been good when I've visited, so when I arrived to see that the layout had changed to that of a more formal style and that there was just one other table seated, I was a little disappointed, but it was mid week, so understandable. I gave my daughters birthday cake to the waiter and proceeded to our table. There were 5 adults in our group, one not eating and a baby. The service from the offset was without doubt the worst I have received in my life (and I have lived here a long time so I am used to the island's bad service!) - we waited over 40minutes for our order to be taken and the waiting staff continued to be 'missing in action' for most of our meal. Between us we ordered 3 steaks and sides, one glass of wine and water. The food arrived cold, looked pretty, but was tasteless lacking finesse of any sort for the price point and had ingredients not mentioned on the menu in a couple of the dishes which meant they had to be sent back due to allergens. 4 people ordered water and the waiter proceeded to deliver 4 large bottles of water to our table which we were clearly not going to drink at a cost of 40€, which was dumbfounding. The meat portions were small and the quality certainly didn't match the cost. We couldn't even send our food back as there were no waiting staff to be found. During our meal there was a lorry doing something with the drains not only very very loudly but also obstructing our view - the venue's selling point is the view. When I asked for the baby change, I was told there wasn't one and had to change my daughter in the back of our car - parked next to the sewage lorry. Due to the service being so slow, two of my guests had to leave before the birthday cake was bought out, and there was no time for the others to eat any. The 150€ cake proceeded to go to waste, as it was fresh cream with fruit and had to be driven across the island in the heat. By the time I got it home, it fell apart. When the bill arrived it was a stonking 340€ which was essentially 80€ per head for a cold main meal, no starters, no dessert and no alcohol besides a single glass of wine. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I left feeling robbed and very upset that I chosen this venue for my daughters 1st birthday family meal. It was an embarrassingly shambolic experience. Yet another Ibiza venue that is ridiculously overpriced and shockingly under-serviced. I will never be returning and would definitely not...

Not a good experience. I would just like to let you know my honest opinion of my experience last night which I will also be posting on review sites. We attended from a recommendation from our butler at our hotel, it looked great and with me being pregnant we were looking for somewhere nice to eat with great views and atmosphere. At the beginning everyone was very friendly, the waiter was trying to upsell steaks and wine, and despite me being pregnant he said we could cook the steak more for me. Obviously I wasn’t drinking alcohol and neither was my husband, that didn’t go down well either that we didn’t want a bottle of wine. Starters and bread were lovely, then the main arrived. It was rare and even after my husband putting it on the hot plate for 5 minutes it was still pink. When you are pregnant you cannot have steak pink or have any blood at all as it can cause infection and harm the baby. Nobody came to check on us or the meal and after about 15 minutes my husband had to grab the waiter and ask for it to be sent back as it’s to rare for me to eat, and let’s just say the waiter took the plate but it was not done in a friendly manner. Also by this point all of our sides were freezing cold. The steak came back and again it was still pink, so we asked for a third time, reiterating the fact that I am pregnant, only to be tutted at by the waiter with rude remarks saying I know I asked the chef before, he grabbed the board of meat and stormed off, again, no apology, no offer to bring us new side dishes. This made me feel horrendous like I had done something wrong for not wanting to risk my child’s life by eating under cooked steak, I would usually eat steak rare but unfortunately when pregnant things change. It was bought back and eventually I had two pieces but by this point everything was ruined and cold. So we asked for a bill but got no apology, we was treated poorly and I basically paid €380 for some crisps for dinner. I think what we experienced last night was appalling and I’m very upset, and to make it worse I have woke up this morning very ill with a bad stomach. So thank you for making me feel worse than I already did about being pregnant in Ibiza and just trying to enjoy myself with some nice food. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be visiting again or recommending to...

What a sight to behold! Stunning cocktails and an incredible looking restaurant set in an old farm. Dining is split between a canape’d (sorry for that word) and fully outdoor areas. The restaurant is relatively high end. The look of the place; from its lighting, to the way the plants have been added right down to the details of its cutlery, ornaments and glasswear are very stylish and set you up for a special night. It manages to be beautiful without screaming ‘tag me in your post’. It’s simply one of the most beautiful looking places I’ve visited, without seeming like it tried to be.

Overall the food offering is decent but when you consider the price, it lacked something. Firstly, the choices on offer were limited. The dessert offering for example, was pitiful and lacking quality compared to the restaurants you might say are rivals. There is very little variation in the main courses either, although the steaks are lovely.

I felt the service was professional, slick and courteous but there was definitely a hard sell vibe. The first waiter insists “you HAVE to try cocktails before you order wine, before listing almost the entire menu as her favourite” and the second says “You must have the sharing steaks (approx €75 each) as that is what casa Maca is all about”, which is coincidental as the individual steaks are only €40. Additionally they’re so pushy about sides and starters! It’s a bit confusing and unnecessary as 1. That level of up-selling is normally for mid/ lower priced restaurants, not premium. 2. Every guest has a €100 min spend on arrival anyway, so they’re won’t be anyone ordering a tap water and a side salad just to get the Casa Maca experience! I would say they should be less robotic and more suggestive in their selling. Finally, I read “Chips” on the menu and presumed it means patatas fritas, but it was actually crisps. That is entirely my idiocy but….who wants a huge bowl of boring ready salted crisps with their steak?! Get I’m them off the menu ASAP 😂. Asparagus and pepper sides were nice, vacio was decent and the chicken main was simply amazing!! Overall the place is well worth a visit but for €300 for two the menu is limited and the vibe of the staff doesn’t match the chilled vibe of the decor...

Our experience at Casa Maca (restaurant-only), last Thursday, left us feeling both disappointed and unsafe, and I feel compelled to share our experience. * Casa Maca was given the chance to review this feedback for accuracy, but did not respond to my email Arrival & Initial Experience (9PM-10PM): We arrived at 9PM and enjoyed cocktails before moving to our dinner table at 10PM. The ambiance was initially pleasant, but that quickly changed. Weather & Service Issues (10PM-11:30PM): It began raining almost immediately after we sat down, and as the night went on, it turned into a downpour. Despite asking for umbrellas or shelter, the staff did very little to accommodate us and refused safe shelter. By 11:30PM, we felt forced to leave due to the refusal of safe shelter inside the hotel, despite the dangerous road conditions. Car Trouble (11:45PM-01:30AM): On our way out, our car became stuck in deep water, requiring emergency roadside assistance. We were stuck for multiple hours during the downpour without any place to shelter. Staff Behavior & Mistakes: While I understand that the weather was out of control, the staff's handling of the situation was nothing short of negligent. Their refusal to provide safe shelter and lack of urgency in finding a solution put us in a dangerous situation. Additionally, Amer, who was initially helpful, became agitated, telling us, “you do not want to fight with a Tunisian”. His reaction seemed bizarre and entirely unprofessional (for context, none of us have ever gotten into a fight and certainly don’t believe we could take on Amer). Furthermore, we were disappointed with the slow response to our requests for solutions. Ultimately, we agreed to pay for just the drinks and have the food removed from the bill. While we accepted this solution at the time, a restaurant of this calibre should not be charging for the overall experience we had. Final Thoughts: Though mistakes can be forgiven in the heat of the moment, the overall experience was severely lacking. A restaurant of this caliber should prioritize customer safety above all else. In this case, Casa Maca failed to do so, and I cannot recommend them based on our experience.

We visited the restaurant to see whether the hotel might be a good choice for a future stay, as food is a top priority for us. We booked a Saturday dinner for just the two of us. On arrival, I was initially taken aback by the location. The property is surrounded by industrial buildings and warehouses, which doesn’t make for the most inviting first impression. However, once you drive into the spacious gravel parking area, you’re greeted with a charming view of the old town, and as you make your way further into the restaurant’s grounds, the industrial backdrop fades away. The setting is undeniably beautiful. The gardens are well-kept, and the atmosphere is enhanced by the open-air layout, live music, and the sight of the famed meat pit and outdoor kitchen. It’s a lovely ambiance, though I did wonder how the experience might differ on a rainy evening. We were seated promptly and given a detailed explanation of the menu, including which meats had been cooked in the pit. While our server was friendly and helpful, he was quite insistent on upselling us a large quantity of meat, despite us clearly stating we weren’t particularly hungry and were more interested in sampling a variety of sides and vegetables. It felt a little pushy, and given the hefty price tag of over €500 per kilo, we couldn’t help but feel there was an incentive to sell more. Fortunately, we stood our ground and ordered a more modest amount. The sides and vegetables were nicely prepared, though at over €40 per portion, they didn’t quite justify the price. I had hoped they were sourced from the garden, though this wasn’t confirmed. The meat was cooked as requested, which we appreciated, but overall, the flavors didn’t leave a lasting impression. In the end, while the meal was certainly enjoyable and the setting memorable, the experience fell short of expectations, especially at a cost of around €300 for two. Based on the food alone, we’re now unsure whether we’d consider staying at the hotel in the future.
