Bandolero... the name that has a special meaning for those who ever participated in Bandolerita or 100 Miles Sierras del Bandolero... There was an instant connection with the place due to it's name, the small and very cozy terrace and the first introduction by a mutual friend to Ivan, the chef at the restaurant and if I am not mistaken, the co-owner of the establishment.

After spending half of the day in the valley of Genal we returned to the restaurant. Of course I was half expecting to have a table at the terrace, wishful thinking :)) there will be another time for sure. So to those that are complaining bitterly about not being able to be attended or get a nice table - please do call well in advance because the experience is absolutely worth it!

If you are not in a rush, if you are prepared to spend a pleasant afternoon in a circle of friends or family, if you are prepared to be friendly and receptive, if you are open for new experiences and new contacts, you will not be disappointed.

I can only compare the experience of visiting Bandolero restaurant to your first trip to the mountains as a complete novice. If you have no clue how to behave, and instead of learning by observing and listening and simply relaxing and enjoying the experience, you tend to speak loud, shout for the friends ahead or behind you, complain that there is no wifi coverage, keep your eyes in your phone instead of taking in the beauty of the place, you will trip over, hurt yourself, will get tired too quick, thirsty too soon, and eventually hate the entire experience of being in the mountains and in nature in general.

Here I share some of the images that had enough impact on me to make me enjoy the table indoors rather than on the terrace and to be able to have fun with my friends whilst waiting some time for menus to arrive.

Do you know what was the benefit of being patient and enjoying every moment no matter what it looked or felt like?

We were invited to experience some of the amazing culinary creations prepared for us by The Chef Ivan (without ever asking for it or even knowing they existed), we had an opportunity to chat with Ivan on variety of topics and being attended by Ivan personally as he was getting a bit of spare time later in the afternoon. An amazing experience that we will be sharing with others for a very long time.

Thank you Ivan and the team, and please remember to stay true to the essence of what you have created. It is simply Beautiful and Unique...

PS: it's a pity that we don't have images of all the dishes, but we were super busy...

Bochornosa, esa ha sido mi experiencia en este lugar, por lo que recomiendo que nadie vaya. Después de cerca de una hora esperando a ser atendidos, habiendo servido la camarera mesas que habían llegado con posterioridad, con mucha educación la hemos llamado reiteradamente. Por fin nos entrega la carta y posteriormente en otra de las veces que sale fuera nos dice que no tienen comida, sin más explicación que diciendo que es lo que le han dicho en cocina y que ella está sola y no puede hacer más, que entre y lo diga dentro, todo con malas formas. Son unos impresentables desde esta señora hasta dos señores que han salido cuando les he pedido el libro de reclamaciones, habiéndose negado a dármelo cuando es un derecho que tenemos todo consumidor, agarrándose a que no he sido servida. No he sido servida después de una hora esperando con niño incluido por la ineptitud de no saber llevar un negocio y estar en manos de personas sin educación. Me han alzado la voz y me han dejado allí y se han vuelto a meter en la cocina argumentando que tenían dentro 50 personas(entiendo que del comedor del hostal). La suerte de estas personas es que no hay ni un policía ni nadie a quien dirigirte, aunque sea en el ayuntamiento ya que por la hora estaba cerrado, pero espero que mi experiencia sirva de algo. Por su respuesta veo que en ese establecimiento todos tienen la misma educación, ninguna. Una novela será su vida de esas de terror y caótica, al igual que su negocio. Al igual que mi familia, otras también tuvieron que irse. No le daría ninguna estrella, pero hasta en eso tiene suerte ya que no permite valorar sino. Hay que ser más humilde en la vida y aprender de los errores para mejorar. Y una última cosita, a la clientela no se aguanta, mal educado, se atiende con la mejor de las sonrisas y sino no...

Buenas tardes, a continuación voy a proceder a dar los motivos de mi puntuación: Puntos Negativos y Recomendaciones: Es caro, los precios no son merecidos con el servicio que se presta. Bajen los precios, o suban la cantidad de comida al menos. -NO RECOMIENDO PARA NADA EL LOMO DE ORZA, es un plato muy caro con complejo de tapa sin prácticamente sabor. Recomiendo quitarlo de la carta. La carta es una exageración en sí misma. Aconsejo no fiarse mucho de cartas cuyas descripciones sean muy potentosas, ya que a menudo enmascaran la poca gracia del plato, como fue en este caso. Aconsejo hacer cartas más escuetas. Me han servido las patatas fritas más sosas que hasta ahora he probado según recuerdo. ÉCHENLE SAL A LAS PAPAS. Mi compañera pidió arroz blanco hervido, y por un cuenquito, no solo le cobraron 3 euros ( ni el kilo de arroz vale eso), sino que en la factura ponía '' arroz del día''. Por favor, al igual que en la carta, sean realista en las facturas, y una vez más en los precios. El pan estaba sobado, es decir, no era del día. Por favor por mucho pan de horno que sea, si está pasado no apetece mucho comerlo, sino sale rentable para eso sirvan directamente pan de bolsa. Pedimos una hamburguesa cuya carne era más porcentaje de grasa que magro, no fue muy agradable, aconsejo modificar los ingredientes. En la terraza hay Adelfas, árboles con flores MUY VENENOSAS. POR DIOS QUÍTEN ESAS PLANTAS DE AHÍ.

Puntos positivos: La prontitud con la que se sirvió la comida. Las aceitunas entrantes no nos la cobraron. Fueron...

Le doy una, porque menos no se le puede dar, pero al menos, que sirva para que aquel que vaya a visitar el pueblo fantasma, no se meta aquí, porque su propio nombre lo indica.. El bandolero... Porque te atracan... De restaurante no tiene nada, te ponen latas de refresco a 2.20€,calientes, xk te cobran el hielo aparte, ni los precios de los refrescos están en la carta, la atención es un poco desagradable. No entréis ni para ir al baño porque no tiene ni taza del water, ni jabón para las manos. Miserable es la respuesta de vd como propietario de este lugar, que ni es restaurante ni nada, un restaurante no sirve refrescos en lata, y vd si, los precios de ellos no están en carta y se puede verificar, por lo tanto no es absurdo mi comentario, y el baño, como se ve el ticket pedí zumos para mis hijas, a las cuales lleve al baño y corroboro todo lo dicho, no tienen taza, no, mi hija no quiso sentarse y papel tampoco,lo del hielo también es verdad, y hay más comentarios que lo verifican, es cierto que todo el que sale de allí comenta en la puerta lo desagradable que es el lugar, cada cual puede entrar y consumir donde quiera, pero desde luego os pido encarecidamente que a este sitio ni os asomeis, y encima la falta de respeto que tiene el dueño al contestar, ya os indica como es el sitio

I'm not sure how many people would end up going to this town, as it's a very small town, and remote location in Spain, but if you find yourself closer by, I suggest you stop by this local restaurant and have a bite. The homemade authentic Spanish food is amazing. The atmosphere is great and the people are fantastic.

I'm not sure how many people would end up going to this town, as it's a very small town, and remote location in Spain, but if you find yourself closer by, I suggest you stop by this local restaurant and have a bite. The homemade authentic Spanish food is amazing. The atmosphere is great and the people are fantastic.
