Bar El Paso – A Hidden Gem in L’Alfàs del Pi
If you’re anywhere near L’Alfàs del Pi and haven’t yet discovered Bar El Paso, do yourself a favour and put it at the top of your list. This place is a standout—not just for its laid-back charm and spacious terrace, but for food that seriously overdelivers.
I had the full rack of long, slow-smoked ribs and honestly? Game changer. We’re talking a mountain of meat, fall-off-the-bone tender, rich with flavour, and finished with just the right amount of char and glaze. These weren’t just good—they were incredible. The kind of dish that silences a table because everyone’s too busy devouring their portion in awe.
The terrace is huge and makes for the perfect setting—whether you’re catching the last of the sun with a cold beer or settling in for a relaxed evening meal. The drinks and food menus are both spot on, with something for everyone and very reasonably priced. No tourist trap mark-ups here—just solid value.
What really seals the deal though is the service. The owners are hands-on, welcoming, and genuinely care about your experience. It’s that rare mix of professional and personal that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit.
To top it all off, there was a local fiesta happening during our visit, complete with fireworks lighting up the sky—the perfect backdrop to an already brilliant evening.
Bar El Paso has officially earned a place on my go-to list—and I get the feeling I’ll be back often. Whether you’re craving BBQ perfection or just a relaxed night out, this spot...

Pork Wiener schnitzel which I ordered was nice, however the salad it came with was wilted and starting to rot. A strange vegetable concoction also came with the meal and a small potato rosti plus chips. Pork aside it was below par. My wife ordered a Nan bread stuffed with pork strips which were coated with uncooked spices something like curry. It was very unpleasant and she ate the chips and Nan. She also had a similiar salad. Midway through the meal my wife coughed out a piece of metal hat had broken free from a kitchen scourer. We finished eating at this point. When asked about our enjoyment of the meal we didn’t make a fuss but simply pointed out the metal shard. The waitress handled the problem well and deducted the cost of my wife’s meal from the bill. Overall too much wrong with the food ie the combination, flavour and style of food along with the foreign object. We won’t eat there again even though no...
