About the food… Unfortunately, there was a hair in the nuts (aperitif) and another one in the main course from the daily menu (carrillada). The experience was very unpleasant, to the point that I didn’t want to continue eating. They did remove the items from the bill.
Respecting the service… The waitress with curly hair and glasses was understanding and tried to find a solution, which we appreciated. However, the blonde waitress with blue eyes responded defensively and rudely, insisting that “the chefs wear hats,” as if that ruled out any possibility of fault.
In terms of service coordination, things were quite disorganized. One staff member took our drink order, only for another to come and ask again shortly afterward. After we raised the issue about the hair, the service became noticeably slower, with long delays between dishes, at one point we waited more than 20 minutes without...
Read moreWe went for tapas with our family of four. When we arrived at 20.45 the terrace was still empty, but inside there was a decent crowd. Within an hour all the tables outside were full as well. Mostly with spanish people, which convinced us that the local food must be good and no ‘tourist-trap’ bad tapas place. The tapas was a bit more pricey (appr 15 euro p tapas) but the amount of food was decent and it tasted really good! However, the best part of the evening was definitely our host/waiter Daniel! He was so kind and professional. A real experienced host who had a good eye for whatever his customers needed. He was running a full terrace mostly by himself and came to appologize for not having more attention for us due to the busy night. Eventhough we were totally satisfied with his service and never felt neglected, it was very polite that he mentioned it. Thank you Daniel for the...

We wanted to have a nice family dinner (3 people from Germany) at this Spanish restaurant. On Google it looked very inviting. When we arrived, there were free seats outside (also bar stools) and 2–3 tables still free inside.
We greeted in Spanish, but continued in English – since our Spanish is only very basic. At that moment, the young waiter’s expression changed. As soon as he realized we were not locals, he refused to seat us and redirected us to another restaurant, clearly targeted at tourists (mainly English and Dutch visitors).
We felt treated in a very unfriendly and dismissive way – simply because we were foreigners. If tourists are not welcome here, it should be made clear at the entrance or on the website. In Germany you don’t experience such behavior – people are more open and welcoming. Also from Málaga and Torrox Costa I have never seen such an attitude.
1 star is honestly still...
