LaCena by Nola — Restaurant in l'Alfàs del Pi

Nice place where we arrived at 9 at night without a reservation and they gave us a table for two, so happy. It was very busy and we ordered what we thought was straightforward for dinner. A menu that they offered us and a starter for my friend. Great carpaccio! the capresse skewer, very good !! but I start the disaster ... we had to wait almost 1 hour for a frozen sole fillet, with some bones, which left the plate full of water and was tasteless (I ate it because I was hungry). The dry and "hollow" potatoes It was already 11 at night ... They excuse themselves saying they were full. But by that time, it was almost empty. We ordered dessert that was on the menu. It was a coulant ... and they bring us a chocolate brownie and cookie that they also pretended to charge. All crazy! The other tables seemed well attended, with a lot of attention. We feel that we were not treated the same way .. We left without finishing dessert, because it was not what we ordered. It was 11:30 p.m. Total, two and a half hours for two starters and a fish fillet. Anyway .....

When we walked into the restaurant this evening the waitress waved her hand and rudely told us to find a seat up the back. She then came to take our drinks order, but cut us off to leave our table to shout at a waitress who had just started. I requested a cocktail and she tutted and refused to make this as the restaurant was too busy. My food came out however I was nearly finished by the time my mum’s meal came out, having to chase it up. It appeared that the more experienced waitress was too busy criticising the new waitress, bossing her about and shouting at her all night. At one point she actually grabbed the new waitress by the arm and dragged her to the coffee machine! In a full restaurant, and due to how loud her voice was, many people were watching this. Totally ruined the atmosphere of a beautiful restaurant. The newer waitress was lovely and done very well considering the pressure she was being put under, and our meals were also lovely, despite having to wait for so long for...

First off, hats off to our waitress! She did an excellent job and I really want to highlight how special she is! However, our food on the other hand was dissapointing. 5 of us ordered steaks. 1 Medium+ came medium rare/completely rare in the middle. 3 of us ordered medium rare and what we got was rare with a grey surface without any crust. Ontop of that it was very cold in the middle. I asked for it to be put back on the heat to get some crust and to get it more heated up. 15-20min later we got it back and it was medium + / well done with a semi crust. Very dissapointing as this was one of the more expensive dishes. The sauce and chips got cold before we got our steaks back, but the waitress happily gave us a new sauce. This is nothing on the service at all, but strickly on the food itself. Hoping this is just an...
