Namaste is hands down the best restaurant in El Albir. We've had both lunch and dinner here. At lunch we each got a pizza. Their assortment of pizza is fairly small, but the taste is above average from any other pizza you get in the city. Where this restaurant really shines is their Indian dishes. They are AMAZING. The taste is great, the spice in right in the eye, and it comes in 3 different levels of spice (from mild to strong - there's something for everybody!). We've tried 4 of their Indian dishes, and all of them were incredible in their own way.
The restaurant seems family-owned, and is atmosphere is laid back. The service is polite, friendly and they all speak English. We love this place. Their prices are fair (maybe even to the cheaper side).
If you ever visit El Albir, you HAVE to try out Namaste, and treat yourself with one of their Indian dishes (if you are sceptic of curry, don't hesitate to try it anyways - they got indian dishes with almost no curry).
For 2 people we each got an Indian dish with rice, naan bread, two bottles of water and a bottle of wine to share for the price of 40 euro. You can't complain about...
Read moreToday my family and I went for a meal at Namaste Albir. We were the first people there and were given the burgundy red menu, which turned out to be the full-price menu. We ordered our food and started eating when I noticed that other customers were using a small laminated card — a different menu.
I asked to see it and found out it was the set menu, which included a starter, main meal, dessert, and an alcoholic drink (either a pint or a glass of wine). What’s more, the food we had ordered from the full-price menu was exactly the same as what was on the set menu, but we were charged more.
When I asked the waiter why we hadn’t been offered the set menu in the first place, he explained that management tells the staff not to mention it and to make people order from the more expensive menu. I told him that I thought this was very unfair, especially since we were paying extra for the same food. He said there was nothing he could do about it.
I also explained that I’m here on holiday for two weeks and this was my third day and they won't be having my custom again, as after this experience, I won’t be coming back again...
Read moreFriendly and welcoming. Nice central location. We are vegan and vegetarian, so although there is a good choice of vegetable curry dishes, on the non-Indian menu there are very few options indeed. We decided to try the house salad (without chicken) and a simple side-dish of fries. The basic salad was actually excellent, but rather spoiled by being drenched (without consultation) in mayonnaise. Please - a tip for the staff: do not add sauces without asking first as this made it inedible for a vegan and not everyone likes mayonnaise anyway (we prefer simple oil and balsamic which is not a good mix with mayonnaise). The salad ingredients were all very good, however, as were the fries. Tasty, hot and not greasy. Very reasonable prices. Certainly many vegetarian curry dishes if you are looking for those. We would...
