Ca Merino — Restaurant in l'Ametlla de Mar

Having eaten here many years ago, we decided to come back as it's a nice place a bit out of the crowds. We found the same cosy place and took the menu del día for an okay 18 EUR pp and 11 EUR for the kids menu. The portions were too small, so we ordered some extra bread, which after asking four times came only once we finished the paella. Still we all left still hungry. Service [from the young lad] was slow and not very accommodating, which according to the lady behind the bar, was due to new staff. I do respect the dificulties a restaurant owner has to deal with finding a balance between acceptable prices and good staff. However, when they had her young new waitor pass by us and all the other tables to apologize on behalf of the restaurant (owner?) it made it all very uncomfortable, for everyone. Reading the defensive tone on other negative reviews placed here I recommend some self-reflection. A genuine sorry from the responsible person goes a long way for...

Agosto 2024: Como prometimos, volvimos a visitar este restaurante que nos encanta y que nos dejó un regusto amargo el año pasado. Esta vez no pudimos estar mejor atendidos, y la comida fresca y muy buena. Me encanta rectificar siempre que es a positivo...así que mil gracias y nos veremos... Noviembre 23: Lo primero es darle las gracias por su amable respuesta, eso ya dice mucho de Uds. Cómo verá en mi reseña después de ese desafortunado malentendido, a los dos días volvimos y nos pasó lo de la camarera que entiendo que usted no fuera sabedora. Por supuesto que nos encantará volver ya que siempre hemos estado muy agusto. Un saludo y espero vernos pronto.

Actualizo reseña, porque igual que digo una co...te digo la o... Verano del 23, septiembre. Esta semana hemos intentado ir dos veces, la primera había una mesa tomando algo y la dueña dentro, cuando le pedí unas copas de vino y unos mejillones me comentó que la camarera no había venido y no podía servirnos... miré a la mesa que si había servido y como vi que no me daba opción...nos fuimos. Hoy 9/9 hemos ido 5 personas, nos han sentado en una mesa y hemos estado viendo pasar a la camarera una y otra vez por nuestro lado, le hemos pedido por favor que viniera y nos ha dicho que sí...20 minutos después nos hemos levantado sin ni siquiera habernos tomado la bebida...lejos de disculparse la camarera nos ha sonreído. No sé a qué es debido pero me llevo una desilusión muy grande, el año pasado estuvimos varias veces y comimos genial, una pena.

We ordered frid fish and squids and patates bravas. Let's say that it was all swimming in oil. For the fish we had no idea about the name of the fish. The pats bravas were actually wadge potatoes from the super market. And the frid squid were literally saggy and in oil I even found the head of a fish fridge in the mixtures and all frozen. Nothing was fresh . I felt sick and all of that for 54 euros. Which I find ridiculous expensive. I even had to wash my cloths coz they smelled of oil(...
