While people on the beaten track fight for their towel space starting 30 min north and 45 min south, the stretch from l'Amettla de Mar all the way to Sant Carles de Rapita - even during high season - for the masses the region is still off the radar. A must place in this region is this restaurant: seafront, plenty of character, excellent food and very attentive service! Does that sound like a compelling compilation? Yes, you can eat cheaper elsewhere. And probably get larger portions as well. But these are not the standards I am interested in.

Although we are spending a lot of time in this region, it was our first visit a few days ago. We booked the table the very same day. And although they were well booked that night, they tried to help and get us a table anyway. Not often that this happens. We had a selection of tapas to start - all very delicious - and meat and fish as main courses. We were a group of 5 - all 5 very happy with their selection.

I told my husband, as we sat down at our table, that it was probably going to be expensive and we’d leave hungry. None of that turned out to be true. The cuisine is truly special, high quality and full of surprising flavors and the prices are very reasonable for what you get.

We went for the tasting menu, which was absolutely worth it. It included smoked mussels, oysters, clams, lenguado, gamba roja, and a delicious dessert. We also enjoyed a glass of cava and a Porn Star Martini. Everything was prepared with great care and creativity.

The view of the sea made the whole experience even more magical, it truly completed...

Hoy hemos comido en este restaurante tres personas y quisiera dejar mis impresiones, diferenciando cuatro aspectos. En primer lugar quisiera destacar y dar mi máxima puntuación al entorno. El restaurante está ubicado junto al mar con unas vistas preciosas. También quisiera dar una puntuación alta a la atención que hemos recibido mostrándose siempre muy atentos y cariñosos. El recinto del restaurante no es muy amplio pero tiene unos enormes ventanales con vistas al mar. También podría dar una puntuación alta lástima que, al tener las puertas abiertas, tienes que compartir la comida con alguna que otra mosca.. lo ideal es que estuviese cerrado y con aire acondicionado. Y por último quisiera valorar la comida.La verdad es que quedé algo decepcionado ya que no se corresponde con las opiniones que había leído. En primer lugar tomamos unas rebanaditas de pan con boquerones caseros que, eso sí, estaba muy bien elaborado. Como plato principal tomamos una zarzuela de pescado para dos personas que, aconsejados por la señora que nos atendió, compartimos entre los tres.La verdad es que fue algo justita tanto en cantidad Como en la calidad de los productos en los que predominaban los mejillones.Creo que no vale lo que cuesta que son 70 €.

El postre casero fue correcto. En conclusión.

Nachdem ich die vielen positiven Bewertungen gelesen habe bin ich etwas überrascht. Wahrscheinlich habe ich den Fehler begangen und Fleisch bestellt anstatt Fisch. Jedenfalls war mein Tataki de vaca recht übersichtlich ohne Beilage oder sonstiges, ok mit wurde erklärt, dass es abends weder Reis noch Pasta gibt, und Fisch gibt es montags auch nicht - was ja grundsätzlich verständlich ist, wenn der Fisch frisch sein soll und die Fischer sonntags nicht arbeiten. Aber für das kleine aufgeschnittene Steak (geschätzt 100g), wenn auch künstlerisch angerichtet, 29€ zu zahlen - wie gesagt ohne Beilage (jedenfalls konnte ich die Tropfen - siehe Foto - rechts und links auf dem Teller nicht als Beilage bewerten)- halte ich nicht für angemessen. Zudem war die Bedienung recht unmotiviert, wir haben zum Schluss lange mit leeren Gläsern dagesessen. Ich bin sicherlich nicht der Typ „viel und billig“ - aber „wenig und überteuert“ bin ich auch nicht, sorry. Aber einfach mal selbst ausprobieren - vielleicht habe ich nur Pech gehabt.
