Restaurant La Bocana — Restaurant in l'Ametlla de Mar

Waste of money. We came here for dinner around 19:30 and were told they didn't open until 20.00. Came back at 20.00 and got a table. Due to Covid 19, menu is via scanning of a QR code and then you can browse the menu on your phone. But why didn't they put just one menu up on a wall or a sign, that would make it much easier (and still safe when there are no other guests). I ordered a tuna steak (18 euro) and my wife ordered a tapas plate of 8 large shrimps (13 euro). They came after some 30 minutes. No bread came, so I had to ask "could we have some bread" and the answer was "yes" and along came a basket with two sorry pieces of bread, that may have been fresh in the morning. The tuna was really chewy (hard to cut out), and I eventually left about half of the two steaks. When the lady came to take away they plates she didn't even bother to ask whether fodo was ok, but only asked if we wanted anything else. Seriously - if you leave half the food un-eaten, you are either not hungry, or there is something wrong. Given we were the only customers for the first 45 minutes in the restaurant, it's amazing how little attention we got. We eventually got a bill of 40 euro for 8 large shrimps (that were ok), a lousy tuna steak and two cokes. Even had to pay 2 euro for two pieces of bread. No tips given (I almost always pay tip), and I recommend you guys to spend your money elsewhere, where staff may be more welcoming and food better. Lovely meal for 4. Service was very friendly and accommodating. We went for the €23 set menu option and cant fault the quality of the meal. The snails were amazing and delicious. The paella for 4 was massive and we felt guilt for leaving some as it was just to much for us all to eat. The staff were super friendly and even though they did not speak great English the whole ordering process was so easy. Thankyou for a great meal and would totally recommend to anybody...

Un lugar del que tenía expectativas al que no volveré en la vida. Y las razones son varias:

1. El servicio de sala y atención es un desastre: Hicimos reserva a las 15h. A esa misma hora había una cola de gente fuera a 40 grados en el sol. Tuvimos que esperar 30 minutos para entrar. Viendo como otras mesas que llegaron después y tenian reserva a la misma hora. Pasaban delante. Nuestra mesa estaba hacia rato preparada. El trato del servicio desagradable. ¡Hay que formar al personal de sala! El segundo plato llegó 45 minutos más tarde. El restaurante estaba lleno y se olvidaron de nosotros. Preguntamos dos veces. No hubo ni una disculp. El rodaballo llegó frío y el pulpo muy caliente. Mesas pegadas. A las 16h nos empezó a dar fuerte el sol en la mesa. Y después a la hora del café pedimos si podíamos cambiarnos de mesa: respuesta de la camarera: dentro no hay ventilador.
2. La calidad precio no es acorde en algunos de los platos. Poca cantidad. El pescado muy cocinado con el mismo aceite. Cantidafes pequeñas. La mesa de al lado se quejó también de la fideuà (estaba caldosa pero con agua). Nuestros mejillones cocinados y practicamente secos. Es la comida donde pasamos más calor de nuestra vida. No nos levantamos y nos fuimos por educación pero desde luego no vuelvo en vida. Una vergüenza. Cuando un restaurante no tiene más capacidad (en personal y espacio) para acoger comensales, mejor no abusar y querer...
