I visited the restaurant during my summer break in Catalonia. I can say that this restaurant has exceeded my expectations in all areas. I like to ensure when I come for food that the customer service, ambience and quality of food are good and reflect the price I pay. I was very pleased with what service I received as soon as I took a seat. The location is excellent and the food itself is of the best quality in a excellent local Catalan area. Highly recommended to anyone who comes to L’Ampolla for some true Catalan food!

Lo peor de l'Ampolla. Comida: tras ver la carta y ofrecernos menú de 20€ en fin de semana, optamos por un menú de entrante, plato principal, segundo, postre pan y bebida. Mala decisión: El entrante era una ensaladita que cabe en un puño, y es lo mejor del menú. De primero canelones, cantidad normal, tres por plato, pero servidos en plato de arcilla, de dudosa limpieza y con sabor a pescado... Mejor no mirar el interior del canelón. De segundo panceta con chistorra y pincho. Una unidad de cada, no engañan en el nombre pero es un timo en el tamaño. Nos sentimos estafados cuando vimos llegar los platos. El pincho frío por dentro y templado por fuera, la panceta sin sabor y la chistorra bastante seca. De beber te dan a elegir agua o vino con gaseosa... El vino de rellenado. El servicio: las camareras nos atendieron muy rápido, demasiado, cantaban los platos a una velocidad que nos costó pillar todo lo que ofrecían y lo pedían al momento, con lo que no tienes tiempo a pensártelo. El local: mal alumbrado, mitad oscuro el local en un día lluvioso, falta pasarse a led. El aire mejor ni mirarlo, amarillo de cuando se fumaba y a saber si se realiza mantenimiento. El baño bastate limpio.

Buf, suspenso con mayúsculas. De entrada la camarera te dice tan rápido lo que hay de menú, que no puedes memorizarlo, para saber lo que pedir. Le hice dos preguntas referente a los platos, ya que no sabía lo que era y ponía cara de asombro. Un poco antipática, pero bueno, eso no es lo peor. La calidad y la elaboración deja mucho que desear. El aceite para apañar la ensalada, es de girasol. El arroz con pota( ellos dicen calamares), pasado totalmente y trocitos de pota que ni se veían. El pescado parecido al gallo, insípido y solo una pieza. El mousse de limón horrible, una pasta super espesa y encima una nata de esas de bote y caliente, o sea que no la tenían en el frigo. Miedo me da , si no nos sienta algo mal. A mí amiga , le pusieron un trozo de costilla de cerdo, completamente quemada. El vino de relleno y tumbado, en una botella sucia. El salero y la pimienta llenos de suciedad. El cortado malísimo, solo sabía a leche. En fin, no me quiero extender más, pero desde luego, si vais a ir a L'Ampolla, no se os ocurra dejar vuestro dinero tirado en este establecimiento.

A year later, I revisited and it still exceeds my expectations!!!

I visited L’Ampolla on a yearly basis and this is my go to restaurant for many reasons (read further)

The restaurant atmosphere is always vibrant! It is always busy with friendly staff and there’s a real community feel whenever I go there!

Despite the restaurant being busy - the staff will ALWAYS go out of their way to ensure you feel valued and are always willing to help and answer questions!

THE FOOD! I ordered one of the famous menus - which is a very good price btw! And as always it left me full and wanting more by the end. The menu ketta offers is detailed and the service is fast. The quality is excellent with the food as you can tell and the owner will explain the dishes to me (as I am an English customer).

Big shout out to the owner and his staff. I will certainly be coming back for...

We ate here on 12th October, 2021. No reservation, so we had a 15 min wait for a lunchtime (13:30) table. The staff never stand still for more than 5 seconds. Otherwise they are so busy, cooking & serving ice-cold beers and superb food, majoring on paella and shellfish of the delta. This is not a posh place, but it is a traditional place. Great spot, great food and value for money. Not open in the evenings. Long lunches only. Go there!!

Edit: October 2024. Yet another long lunch in Ketta. It's just lovely. Their Menu Del Dia looks amazing (too much for us), so we usually eat fish and shellfish from the main menu.
