Xiringuito Olivia is a nice spot, beautifully situated right on the beach with tables set directly on the sand, creating a perfect seaside ambiance.
The service was friendly and helpful, and our waiter made several recommendations for our meal. However, while we were told the plates were small, they turned out to be quite generous portions, leading to much more food than we could eat.
We ordered the vieira, maki, eggplant, octopus, and duck. The presentation of all the dishes was appealing. The vieira and octopus were delicious, full of flavor and well-cooked. The eggplant was average, not particularly memorable.
Unfortunately, the maki and duck were disappointing. The maki rice was too oily and chewy, which overshadowed the dish. The duck was particularly bad—the texture was extremely chewy, and the taste of the meat was off. We couldn’t eat the duck at all, but despite mentioning this to the staff, we were still charged for it, which was frustrating and left a sour note on the experience.
On the positive side, the virgin mojitos were fantastic—refreshing and perfectly balanced.
In summary, while Xiringuito Olivia offers a lovely beachside setting and some standout dishes like the vieira and octopus, the inconsistency in food quality and the disappointing response to our feedback about the duck left us with mixed feelings. If you visit, I recommend sticking to the more successful dishes and enjoying the drinks, but be cautious with the rest...
Read moreHonestly so disappointed with this place. We booked for 4.15pm for 6 people. 3 adults and 3 children. We were 10 minutes late. This was made clear by 2 of the staff who made it VERY clear we were late although their booking system allows 15 minutes grace… from there on they was extremely pushy to order drinks and food quickly. We obliged, and were told it was because the kitchen staff were very hot, not problem. We were also told we could stay as long as we wanted. Come 6pm we were told to vacate asap… only 5 minutes after we ordered a bottle of wine. One staff member told us we could move to the bar. We moved to the bar to be kicked out immediately because there was a larger event arriving. We ordered 6 drinks plus a bottle of wine, 3 kids chicken and chips and 2 burgers plus some olives and chips and the bill was over €170. We were there for 90 minutes before being pushed out quite aggressively. I do not recommend you visit this place as there was no prior communication of our limited time there and the service generally...
Read moreI am a customer of l’olivia since they opened and for sometiled i decided not to go as they were so rude then got a bit better and i am again so disappointed this year. Food was good as usual but the manager put first clearly that if he gives us the table ( who was free) 15 min before we need to leave 15 min as we have only 1h30 to eat. Then we seat and we wanted to order for the kids firsy but we cannot we need to order everything in the same and if it is not enough then shame on you you cannot order again. This remove all the hapiness to go to a restaurant. L’olivia is not cheap for a spanish restaurant at least a minimum of respect for your customer. This time i will not go back anymore bc what will be next year? Every year a new rule worst than the year before such a shame for such...
