Hi google friends, truthfully my first review of a restaurant. I generally find myself in wonderful, inspired restaurants and destinations.
I applaud the concept of utilizing 3D mapping to create an immersive culinary experience but from our dining perspective this concept was so bad it's hard to comprehend all the rave reviews. Even a five year old would get sick of the same little mermaid track that plays on repeat for hours in a dark, curtained off, carpeted room. Immersive because you have a 20 second projection on a table cloth prior to receiving C- food? Save this 3D disappointment for cruise ships or Disney or Chuckie cheese.
Really felt someone had to speak up about how terrible this restaurant is if you actually care about interacting with a passionate, lively staff, in a fun vibrant environment while enjoying really good food.
So if you are in Barcelona for a short time and your dining experience matters, you've been warned. Looking out! ❤️
Side bar - When we asked our server if the music ever changed, she laughed and then proceeded to share how working at the restaurant and the endless looping music haunted her dreams. Can't make it up. This...
Read moreThe experience was a lot of fun especially for my child who was celebrating her 10th birthday. We were a few mins late when we arrived at the lobby of the Hyatt Regency. There was a counter for La Petit Chef on the ground floor, but there was no one there. When we asked at the hotel reception they told us to wait until someone came to get us. This took at least 5-10 mins of waiting which meant we had missed the first "show" for entree. My daughter didn't noticed. We could've just taken the lift up to 3rd floor and would've probably made it on time. It was disappointing that the waiting for someone to "escort" us meant we were late for than 15 mins late, but also all the other tables were waiting for us too, which was not great, and I apologise for this. Perhaps the restaurant and hotel needs to have better communication. Otherwise, we thought the experience was good fun, the restaurant was quite empty (with only 4 tables). Food was ok, staff were friendly and nice. It was overall an enjoyable experience and my daughter had a great time celebrating...
Read moreThe evening was beautiful. The service was excellent. The overall experience of the show made us enjoy the food even more. Especially enjoyed the 1st course (salad) and the dessert (rice pudding). The Burrata used for the 1st course was so fresh and the tomatoes were juicy. The dessert melted in the mouth. The finalé was even more tasty. A shout out to Nicole who not only was efficient coordinating the entire show but her friendly banter with us was also endearing. The evening started with Enric Bascompte providing us with an intriguing and delightful introduction to our evening. He was extremely helpful from the point when my husband was making the reservations for our table of 5 adults until he escorted us to the beginning of our delectable evening. A definite visit when in...
