I post few negative reviews. I am not a vindictive person. But this experience in the Palmer restaurant of the Renaissance fira was appalling. My company reserves between 30 and 50 rooms nightly at this hotel. We were a group of 11 sitting together. As soon as we sat down we felt rushed and had little patience when taking our order. She was unfriendly, and not helpful with the menu. When the food started coming out, half of us were served, and the rest waited 20 minutes to eat. So far bad service, but nothing worth the time of complaining. While we are waiting for the rest of our food to come out. ANI dramatically comes over to our table and informs us we are too loud and that we were bothering other patrons. She also told us nobody wanted to sit near us because of the noise. I find this hard to believe, because it was a Monday night and the place was half empty. Not to mention that the medium age of our group was close to 60 years of age. Hardly the college type revelers. To top this insult. When we paid our bill. She came back to us and said, "You owe more money, I don't want your tip . Just pay the bill. " We asked for the manager. And she refused. After insisting for several minutes. We complained. The manager was apologetic and bought us a round of Cava. A is awful. We were all very insulted with her behavior. She ruined the atmosphere and our mood for the evening. Although we all love the hotel. We will not go back to the restaurant as long as A, is still...
Read moreI stayed a few days at this Marriott hotel and decided to give the restaurant a try. My impressions:
Waitstaff is nice and attentive. Local wines are great and reasonable.
Fresh salad was also good. Veggies were a good cool temp and crunchy. Mozzarella and oils were nice.
I ordered the chicken curry and it came out approximately room temperature, straight in the danger zone for proteins. I immediately sent it back and was scared to try another “warmed up” version and switched to the Salmon.
Salmon: The salmon was good, not great. It came with a mix of veggies like cherry tomatoes and a few asparagus in oil.
There was also a couple dining next to me. They also sent back a steak that was under cooked and Sea Bass that was soggy.
You may be wondering why I was ordering Chicken Curry in Barcelona. Well, I’ve had so much Mediterranean food that I was craving something different. If it’s on the menu, it needs to be on point.
The waiter gave us all additional wine for the inconvenience.
So, I was expecting more for the money. The ratings are really good for this restaurant so it may have been...
Read moreThe food was great. I kept it simple with a Caesar Salad to start and for my entree the Vegetable Paella, but asked that they add chicken, which they did. The staff seemed to be very disorganized. It appeared as if they were not operating with the staff they needed because everybody was doing everything, it didn’t seem like anybody was in their comfort zones, just all wildly running around trying to take care of everyone. I saw numerous people ask how much longer their food would be, although for me, just one person, I was expecting it to take an hour which is what my full time at the restaurant was, one hour exactly. I would strongly encourage them to have better organization going forward, and hope this was more of a “once in a blue moon” type of experience because as of right now, I would not go back to have that same...
