I discovered A Gaudir because I was looking for a Portuguese restaurant. But when I arrived I discovered it is not a Portuguese anymore, so it was a bit disappointing.
When we arrived there was only 1 other table, so we were in total 2 families. And the food took 40 minutes to be served. But the staff was nice and polite. I was also disappointed with the options at the menu, and the prices, for me it doesn’t value what it costs. For much less I have already had much better food in Barcelona.
I don’t like when fish is served as an actual fish, I prefer when food looks like food and not like an animal. So I asked then to serve it In pieces and they were very nice to serve it “my way”, I really appreciated it.

The armchairs and the sofas with the fluffy pillows were ideal for relaxing. The food was superb. We appreciated the gesture of bringing us bits of embutidos (chorizo and lomo) with bread chunks with olive oil as starters and not charging us for them. The baby lamb ribs were delicious, so was the coffee and biscuit cake as dessert. The stuff were perfect, smiling and polite. The service was fast. Read moreWe like this restaurant, it’s open before 8.30pm which suits us, after a busy week. The menu isn’t huge but the food & service are good, the prices are a bit on the upper range. We have been there a few times, it’s a nice experience. However, on our most recent visit we were asked for a tip from the waiter. This hasn’t happened before and neither it should, this is not the Spanish custom and on years we have never been asked in Spain.
