Michelin-level food in a homey, unassuming place in the middle of the Pyrenees, my new favorite restaurant in the entire Pallars! Each of the dishes blended flavors magically, I loved the leeks and the sauces on it, artichokes, the tartar de gamba on top of bone marrow, and the delightful kakigori with fresh apples from the area. Everything was so good and prices are affordable for the level of care they put into those dishes.

Menus are in Catalan and Spanish (as they should be!) and the team speaks English too so they’re happy to explain the menu to you. We booked ahead of time because they are a small place and recommend you do that too. I will be...

Dos eren dos… i no en calen més. A la Pobla de Segur, amagat entre muntanyes, hi trobem una petita joia gastronòmica que només necessita una barra, quatre taules i una vintena de comensals per brillar amb llum pròpia. En Jaime i la Clàudia en porten les regnes, cuinen, serveixen, expliquen i somriuen. Ells s’ho fan i s’ho mengen, com es diu en confiança. Hi vam arribar de la mà d’uns amics que ja els coneixien i ens en parlaven meravelles. Ens reben amb una calidesa honesta i gens forçada. A la barra, el xou és obert: cuina a la vista, ritme precís, i sabors sense filtres. La carta és concisa, però atrevida, amb protagonisme absolut per al producte local i de temporada. Entre molts encerts, ens van emocionar plats com el tàrtar de truita de riu amb ou ferrat ecològic, el brioix de girella amb maionesa de za’tar i oxalis, o el magnum cruixent de pollastre ecològic de la Torre d’Erbull amb maionesa de kimchi i salsa tonkatsu. També cal destacar l’steak de cérvol amb grissini i unes sepionetes saltejades amb ratafia Portet i crema de pastanaga. I de postres? El kakigori d’albercoc amb nata especiada i nous de Sort garapinyades, o una fina pannacotta de flor de saüc amb caviar oscetra i oli de fulla de figuera. Really wonderful experience all round from the fig leaf water as we sat down to the smoked panacotta with strawberries. Excellent products, freshly prepared and inventive twists on classic dishes.

Crunchy in house sourdough and a local green olive oil leeks with black garlic, mackerel sashimi with elderflower vinegar, cod tortilla with spring Pearl peas.

The service is unique too, the chefs prepare food at the bar and also bring some...
